Creative Labs Geforce 2 -- wierd problem

I have a Creative Labs Geforce 2 and its been giving me some wierd problems. When I first turn the computer on, it gives me the tag line about the video card. Here's the wierd part, sometimes it says 16mb and other times it says 32mb.

Also, ocassionally while I am playing, I lose video signal to the monitor and I can only get it to come back by rebooting the computer (just using the reset key). It does seem that the computer is still running since I can push keys and here the correct sounds. All I have been doing lately is playing Diablo2 so I dont know if this is a function of D2 or the video card. Ill have to experiment with other games. This all occurs at very random times and I never had this problem with my old tnt1/voodoo2 combo.

I'm getting this wierd problem whit 16 mb and 32mb on some FSB (others not) when I overclocks my processor I have a ASUS P3V4X whit a CLGeforceDDR PRO

I have heard that creative has a new video bios to solve this problem but it's not official!

I have a new gf-gts and couldn't wait to get ti in my system. What a disappointment on two counts. firstly with q3 and everything at maximum I just get 59 fps. secondly and much more importantly i lose video completely every time i turn the system off. When I restart i get one long bee followed by two short and a blank screen. The system carries on booting in the background.
I have tried every combination of pci card insertions and nothing changes.

As soon as i put my V3 3000 back in I get no problems.
These issues are all to do with the bios recognition.

Ill see if I can help you. The question was a bit cryptic though. First Q3 at maximum settings yields ~60fps. To know if this is reasonable is the resolution you are playing at. If its a high resolution then 60fps is not a bad number. If you are playing at the lowest resolution, then your monitor may be synching with the video card and limiting your fps to 60.

You turn the system off then the screen goes black or the screen goes black then you have to turn the system off? Mine completely cuts out and the monitor loses all video signal -- this occurs while I am playing a game (usually Diablo 2). Im trying to see if this only occurs when the bios reports 16MB of RAM on the video card or if it happens regardless of whether 16 or 32 is displayed.

As for the beeps. The is a beep code chart lying around on the web, just do a search for "beep codes". Just taking a guess though, is your V3 a PCI card or and AGP card? It may be that you arent seating the AGP card fully into the slot and thereby not getting a signal while you dont get this from the voodoo because you are seating the PCI card correctly.
