64-bit DDR to be exact. The SDR MX cards use 128-bit.

plus, the ddr gf2mx uses crappy 143mhz 7ns ram, so it ends up being slower than a regular gf2 mx

so the "ddr" gf2mx is sorta a scam on creative's part if you ask me.....

The SDR is definitely faster. eVGA already benchmarkes the 2 and the SDRam came out on top in every benchmark used.

Don't get sucked in by the 64-bit ddr mx, it is slower than the 128-bit sdr mx . . .

Why not buy the CL Annihilator 2 for $178 with free shipping (on 11/20)from buy.com (using the $30 off $150 coupon). Hard to beat this deal for a killer card.

So when my clock slider in the preferences panel says 286 mhz for my ddr mx board, it actually means 143 mhz with two operations on each clock? What a sham!

Yes the DDR is slower but there are several
things to consider.
1. On the average when playing most games you
won't even notice a difference.
2. The Creative 3D Blaster Annihilator 2 MX AGP
is an excellent card for $95 shipped. ( Purchased
through Buy.com when they had their $30 off
$100 coupon).
3. Creative is known for their reliability and
customer support including latest drivers.

I have a Creative Annihilator 2 MX DDR and while it is a little slower than my new A-Open Geforce 2 MX, it can be overclocked to compete quite well with the SDR cards. It also has very nice 2D, which apparently can't be said for all the GF2MX cards that are out there. BTW, the A-Open geforce 2 MX is available from mwave.com for $109 plus shipping and comes with a nice heatsink attached to the GPU.

Sorry it took me so long to get back my computer is DOA. The card was 129.99 with a free $20 giftcard and 10% off this weekend. My total after tax was $96 and some change this card has 32 mg of ddr I dont know how good of a card it is but it seemed like a deal so I bought it.

It's probably not a bad card. Just depends on how high you can over clock. Each 1 mhz increase would probably be equivalent to a 2 mhz increase for a sdr mx.

Well I could return it and get the Aopen Card but I dunno I have a Viper 330 w/tv out and Voodoo 2 16mg. I think this Creative card is a definate improvement over my current set up. What should I do? Should I return the card or not?

I like this card a lot...I'm running a PIII 800 with it, playing games at 1024x768x32 or 1280x1024x32 and have had no problems....
