Creative Labs Inspire 5300 5.1 $50 at Walmart

First post. Just got back from the Walmart in Hudson, Wi. They have put the Inspire 5300 speakers on clearance for $50. Best price on Pricewatch is $64 and Bestbuy are selling them for $70 after rebate starting tomorrow. Combined with the Philips Seismic Edge deal, it made for a nice upgrade for my PC. As always with clearances, YMMV.

ARG - I would have killed a man for this deal a few months ago - instead i picked up a 5.1 set off ebay made by 'eaudio' - ive never heard of them but theyre half way decent for a cheap setup. If u cant get in on the Creatives u may want to look into them.

let's call it Your Mileage Will Be The Distance That You Travel To Original Poster Walmart (YMWBTDTYTTOPW).

It is so frustating to duplicate Walmart clearance price. Maybe we should consolidate it all into one thread.

Confirmed... just bought 3 of the Inspire 5.1s for $50 each and 2 of the Altec Lansing Model 251 5.1 Gaming theater speakers for $50 each.

Just called a lot of Walmarts in the Orange County, CA area, seems like they are all $98. Went to the New Store in HB, and they are same price. However, the prices are a little different at every store by around 4 cents. Thought that was a little different.

Viper... Ill let you know sometime tomorrow when I test them out... damn residency applications took up my entire day today so Ive just been staring at these boxes of new speakers the entire day and its driving me nuts. But Im using the Logitech z560s so its not making me TOO crazy.

Well, I wont expect the 251s to be comparable to the z560 where the wattage matters, but please tell as much as possible about the sound (when its not maxed out) / built (cables, plugs) quality, features and such stuffs... thanks.

The reason not all stores have them for this clearance price is that clearance prices are not handed down from corporate. They are all made at store level.

so that means that not even the d.m.s have a say in what goes on clearance? so theoretically, if one wanted to get the good clearance @ walmart, one would have to almost stalk the gm/store mgr from store to store when the chain moved him/her
i mean, there HAS got to be a good reason for why the prices are disparate. does the mgr's preference for a type of product play into it also? have been wondering...

Man, WalMarts Pricing/Clearance consistency sucks big time. They are still $99.00 here in Columbus, Ohio. Like 10 sets of them in stock too. Anyone know if WalMart pricematches themselves? If so, can someone PM me a receipt scan so I can pick up a set of these?
