The quality of the audigy is far superior to the extigy.. This is great for a laptop or other computer that you can't put an better internal card into.

They give the rebate because they just released Extigy NX series.
YEs, extigy is same class as Audigy (based on USB1.1). And their latest NX series are in the same class as Audigy2 (Based on USB2.0)

The rebate for Audigy 2 states that you must purchase a set of speakers to redeem it. So this deal doesn't seem that great.
