They have the "piece of crap proprietary creative plug," but you can get a receiver for about $100 that accepts SPDIF connections and connects to these speakers flawlessly.

you can't even use creative speakers with a creative intregrated sound on a motherboard because apparently creative doesn't even use a universal connection setup across their own product line.
it really sucks having your sound influence your future computer upgrades because creative won't even be universal with their own products lines. :disgust:
"Creative makes specifically for use with these speakers"Originally posted by: MogyBearNo, you're wrong here. The receiver allows you to connect ANY audio source to it, then the receiver goes into the speakers. The receiver I'm talking about is one that Creative makes specifically for use with these speakers.
Wow, they emit a VERY audible hissing noise out of all channels

OK actually these are starting to piss the hell out of me now. I might just sell them before I go off to college; but I really don't know how long I can stand listening to the hiss anymore :-(. Well I suppose it's a good white noise to have to distract me from my tinnitus.

Well yeah if I put my ear really close to the speakers it is VERY noticeable. It is just barely noticeable, but still there and distracting when I'm not right next to them. All I know is that my old speakers (Logitech Z5300) did NOT do this. The Logitechs seemed MUCH better crafted overall. Heavier satellites with a cleaner professional look.
