This is a really NICE unit. It has two parts, the battery holder which you can replace in different colors for about $10, and a size of a little finger part with a USB connector on the end that plugs right into a pc etc. This is SO handy. This is also the lowest price I have seen, really the first below $100+ I think. Too bad I bought mine at Xmas.

That is the main difference IMO.

I tried the Sandisk e140 and didn't like it. The way it organized music was awkward. I sold mine and picked up this player.

I like it can be used as a flash drive without needing an extra cable and you can just drag and drop songs onto it.

I ordered this from Amazon awhile back, but it's not due to ship for awhile. Good deal if you don't mind a wait.

After checking Creative's web pages, the MuVo's a little fatter in all dimensions and has 3 hours less AAA battery life:

Zen Nano Plus dimensions: 1.32" x 2.58" x 0.51"
battery life: 18 hours

MuVo TX FM dimensions: 1.4" x 2.9" x 0.6"
battery life: 15 hours

I have this MP3 player and I love it. First one got stolen, had to buy another last summer. Perfect for the gym since there's not moving parts, therefore, no skipping. Smaller than a cigarette lighter, so you can't go wrong there. And loading songs is as easy as can be, drag and drop. For $70, you can't go wrong. I'd buy this again over an iPod anyday.

The ability to just plug it directly into a USB makes the Muvo so so much nicer. My only complaint is that the battery holder part is plenty big for a AA instead of a AAA and clearly somebody in marketing decided I would rather have half the battery life instead of the X grams of more battery.

There is no end of sales on all the lesser products, but this was the first good price I have seen on this one. OTOH summer is a coming and somebody is going to be selling bazillions of these.

I've read online that the battery life is about half of what is stated.
Can anyone who owns one confirm that?
Staples online has the Muvo for $69.99 regular price but is out of stock in my area.

Is there an iPod equivalent for the same price?
If so, what are the trade-offs?

Battery life is gong to depend some on the battery used, but my son says about 3 days of a 3 or 4 hours a day. Some units have close to 50 hr battery life, but those are AA not AAA and the highest capacity rechargeable batteries or using some kind of lithium battery.

iPod means you play by Apples little rules period, and the shuffle is no display, its just different. I like the Muvo because its flexible in how you use it, and no cords.

Isn't that a little low for battery life?

Well, I accessed Staples site and inputed my zip code to find it out of stock to my area.

I searched for the muvo on pricegrabber and accessed Staples from there to find it available.

Hmmm??? Strange.

Pricegrabber had a 1GB iRiver model that was refurbished for about the same price as this Muvo.

What would you recommend for $30-$80 if I can't find the Muvo at Staples?

Thanks
