Has anyone tried the new nomad muvo mp3 player? I am curious how the audio sounds as I'm thinking of getting a lightweight mp3 player for use while at the gym and walking between classes on campus. Thanks in advance.

Its quality is pretty much as good as the rest of the other Nomads (very decent), although it is designed to be pretty much bare bones (no eq adjustments, treble, bass).

It should be fine for what you want, although it's not really expandable.

I had one to test about a week or two ago....I was intent on buying it, but then I thought I might wait for the next model to see if they have more features.

Its use as a USB pen drive is nice (I'd probably use that quite a bit), but it is significantly slower than regular USB pen drives because of its format and MP3 capability.

I guess I didn't mention, but there are a few quirks with the MuVo.

- it has problems with WMA. Sometimes it just won't play.
- it doesn't remember the last track that you played. It goes back to the beginning each time you press stop (rather than pause)
- it only plays tracks in the order that you transferred them to the drive.

I'll add more if I can think of anything else.

I believe it doesnt have removable media support either, so you cant swap out cartridges like you can with other mp3 players. Thats the biggest drawback for me personally.

Er....that's because the MuVo itself is the removable cartridge. That's the entire point of the unit.

That point was lost on me

I thought of it as an MP3 player first and a removable storage device second, so I expected it to be like other MP3 players.
