I've actually bought Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and the Audigy X-Fi Platinum from ZZF before. I got both rebates fairly quickly. I think one was a $100 rebate too. Since I upgraded to the X-Fi Platinum, I sold the Audigy 2 on eBay. This is such an improvement over the Audigy 2.

Getting mine Tuesday. Already updated my sig, however. This was a big mistake on ZZF's part, because Newegg has it for $199 AFTER $80 Instant Savings. Guess they were trying to be competitive.

OK. I just meant that undercutting Newegg by $80 and STILL offering the $80 MIR was a little stupid on ZZF's part, whenever the X-fi retails for $300. ZZF's profit margin on those X-fi's is almost nonexistent. I surely don't mind though.

actually both places are selling the card for $200. The additional $80 rebate at ZZF is from Creative. A lot of rebates don't get fulfilled due to the buyer's own mistake (missed deadline or missing papers, etc). $120 is >50% off the MSRP--can't beat that. We didn't see discounts of this magnitude on SB2 ZS until the X-fi's came out.

Ordered. I was planning on sticking with my Audigy 2 ZS, but I do sound encoding/recording/mixing occasionally, and I'm curious as to whether or not the X-Fi will eliminate some problems I'm having with audio fidelity on the finished tracks. Was thinking about getting the extreme music months ago, but there's no way I can pass up this deal on the Fatal1ty version. I could definitely use the front panel connections, too. Sweetness. Thanks OP.

Recieved my card yesterday, and was overjoyed to find out I had a little problem. And when I say little problem, I mean a ridiculously annoying and rather large problem. Whenever I disconnected or connected my speakers from or to the card, my entire computer would crash.

Luckily a trip to creative website for their drivers update fixed my problem. So everyone who ordered, make sure you install their driver update! It seems that the CD bundled with our boxes are their BETA drivers!

Edit: Another note I may add is that I can't for the life of me get winamp to work properly on my system along with this video card. My hands are in the air for this one. However, WMP plays wonderful! Music sounds alive and rich. I never knew music could sound so clear on my computer

Not to thread crap or anything but thought I would ask if this had happened to anybody else. I got my X-Fi Fatal1ty today and the box had been open, resealed and opened again and left open. The card too had been opened so I sent them an email about it. I have bought from this place for a long time but this will likely be the last time as now I have to pay to ship back an open box product that they shipped. I just thought I would point this out especially after reading alaqui2000 similar review.

did you buy it from ZZF? My card was sealed, although I find Creative's workmanship to be poor--many of the capacitors were soldered on crooked; then I looked at my Audigy 2 ZS and it was the same way, but not as bad. The card does work flawlessly--no issue playing Prey and Quake 4, using the latest driver.

Yeah I got in on this deal from ZZF.

In all the years I have purchased from them there has never been any problems but this got me to digging around and it appears their rep is not as good as it was especially back in the googlegear days.

I would say that there is a good chance this one was returned from somebody that had the famous pop and crack problem.

X-RAM, whose benefit is not yet realized in the current crop of games. Only time will tell.

I think that Creative's packaging on this product makes it seem like it was open before. The static bags on the inside are not sealed at all and looked reused. I bought my card from NewEgg but to test it out I also went to CompUSA and bought one just to see and the insides were packaged almost the same.

Also, you can go buy a really nice "CD-Rom Only" rounded IDE cable that will work with this card for $7. Way better then the flat cable it comes with.
