Creative X-Fi price?

i heard that it is coming out August 21 accroding to an ad in maximum pc, but does anybody know what the pricing is on this sound card?

$400 is so pricy.. unless it gets absolutely awesome reviews I think it would be better to run the cheapest one and maybe an m-audio card for input (i.e. guitar)

Lol...considering its really only two different physical products, the first one's hardware coming at $130, and the other one at $400, why would you even think about buying the second one unless...you really want to drop $400 DAC into some sorry ass computer speakers.

For better speakers, you are going to be limited by your av receiver DAC anyway, so might as well drop more money on that and just buy something with bitperfect digital passthrough.

Otherwise...have fun, unless you have too much money AND have some sort of plan where you actually plan to get your money's worth...dropping $900 on the Alienware 5.1 Klipsch setup lol...even then its still a piss poor Klipsch subwoofer.

Klipsch having poor subwoofers is news to me. But I'm not really an audiophile.
A little news for you: Alienware charges too damn much for EVERYTHING they have.
The best Klipsch 5.1 system retails for 400 bucks and you can find it cheaper if you look around.
Having said that, I would much rather invest in a nice speaker system than a new soundcard. My Audigy 1 works just fine in analog 5.1 mode.
