Creative Zen 4gb

I'm thinking of buying the 4gb Zen for $110. The main reason I chose this rather than an iPod nano is because it's expandable via SD cards and my brother conveniently has 4gb SD card lying around for me to use, effectively making it an 8gb mp3 player. My second reason is because it's 2.5" as opposed to the Nano's 2" screen. Oh yeah, it's also $40 cheaper.

Does anyone have one? How satisfied are you with the mp3 player? How are the controls?

Does the SD card integrate into the media library at all? If I'm searching under artists in the media library, will it show all the artists that are in the sd card as well as in the built-in memory?

The SD card does NOT integrate into media library. People are pushing for this at the Creative forums. At the moment I guess it'd only be useful for videos/pictures.

I have an 8gb that just recently died on me. I'll just copy and paste what I posted at the Creative forums.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the static my clothes generate. I think this because I when the player crashes I feel some static shocks in my ears. This also happens with my older MicroPhoto. But that one just resets since there's no reset button.

I love creative so much that I just ordered another one with the skin protectors. Hopefully that'll help with my problem.

I have one ... I absolutely love it, especially the expansion slot. I mostly use it for videos, and a new firmware release lets you batch copy pictures to your player, so it's good if you need to clear one off if you're out taking pictures.

I think the menu speed is great, and all around very responsive. The past few updates have improved video playback quite a bit ... just wish we could drag and drop though, instead of having to convert.

Darn. That would be a killer feature.

I purchased it regardless. Should arrive in a week or so. I suppose it's prudent to buy a screen protector for it? I'll see if Best Buy has them at a decent price.

I got the creative screen protector, along with the wire management case. I plan on buying the arm case at some point soon.

I have a Zen Vision W. Completely different class of device I realize, but I have been extremely happy with it. Seriously kicks ass. If this is any testament to the other Zen devices, I would have no worries owning one.

If you still have time to cancel or if you want to return, you could look into the Cowon D2. 140 bucks, 4 gigs, and has an SD card slot, that *does* work as you would expect.

yea it pisses me off, im prob gonna sell my 16GB and the 16GB SDHC card i have as well, the fact that the card does not integrate IMO make sit prety useless
