Yeah, for those of us who do carry a balance, I got an interesting offer the other day. In the past, I've looked for 0% intro rates and tried to pay down my debt before the intro period expired. But I never paid it down all the way, so I keep running from card to card. I think this can reflect badly and bring down your credit score. So anyway, the new offer from Capital One is a 3.99% APR on both balances and purchases forever! I'm considering it, since it's by far the best APR I've been offered. However, no rewards, just borrowing for cheap. Just another option to consider.Originally posted by: tangent1138
anyone have suggestions on a card to do a balance transfer to? as in no transfer fees and 0% interest for a while?

these are only my opinions, so take them with a grain of salt:
i have a visa, mc, and discover... i found that for rewards and cashback % and whatnot..theyre pretty much all even... customer service has been terrific from all... and dont they all have zero liability anyways? APR is notwithstanding... i dont carry balances
i dont think most ppl will notice a diff between most of these. my card of choice, tho, is the MBNA Platinum Plus Mastercard Worldpoints Rewards...
1. Mastercard has them most benefits, over Visa, and then Discover (rental car insurance, travel life insurance, etc)
2. Instant posting of temporary authorizations (my visa & disc does not do this)
3. One-time use # generation (i believe AMEX & some other MC does this, too)
4. Flexible rewards (redeem cash or travel or prizes... obviously cash is best, as the cash equivalent of the others are lower... tho its nice to have a choice)
i havent found another card with the same combination of features... perhaps citibank might offer one. but anyways, i dont really care, as i reinstate that any other card would do fine for me

I don't get it. Almost any local credit union will offer you fixed 8.9% or 7.9% with 1% cash back for visa platinum. Why on earth would people be considering these 5% cash on gas and food when the apr is 15% and the default is 25%?
If you pay if off EVERY month, perhaps... but there aren't alot of people I know that do that.....
I like my USAA Mastercard... %1 taken off entire credit card bill....every month..... (note: Only military vets and direct family can get one)
