I never use a debit card, I don't even know where it is in the house. I also hardly use cashWait a minute.
You guys not using debit cards for your day to day shit? Credit cards? Why?
My CC's:
JetBlue - most purchases plus double points at restaurants & bars.
REI - REI purchases (10% back) and my cell phone bill, gets me free phone insurance plus 1% back.
Amazon - Amazon purchases - 5-6% back.
Lowe's - 5% back on DIY schtuff.
Wife and I pay off all balances monthly.
The only time I've seen a swipe fee it's listed at the cash register, usually at small stores/bars/restaurants.They do it in the US too. Usually 3%, sometimes 4 or more. Some do it, not all. Part of what's being discussed above.
What's weird is that the fee is added into the charge total. Then the rebate/bonus/points are calculated on the total. So you're be getting a rebate on the swipe fee charge. In some cases you may get 5% back on that 3% charge. Granted it's probably less than a penny in many cases, but still ....
