seems to me that the First USA BP / Amoco Platinum Visa is the winner for average folks..

detail

detail

1% gas for all purchase...

For every $20 in rewards earned, cardholders receive a $20 BP Cash! card, which is redeemable for purchases at all BP and Amoco locations.

much better compared to discover, which claim to have 1% cash back, but like 0.5% actually..

although I notice there is 2% cash back cc on this thread unless u are a high roller,
seems most of us don't qualify...

I have the Bank of America Rewards Card. There is no annual fee. They offer trip insurance, rental car insurance (no limit, up to replacement value of car) , extended protection plan for 1 year on purchases and no Annual fee. There are other benefits that I do not know off hand.

The cash back rewards work as follows: It has a max cap of $150 in cash back, which is equivalent to $15000 of spending. Below is the breakdown.

$0k - $4k = 0.50 % (equals $20)
$4k - $8K = 0.75 % (equals $30)
$8k - $12k = 1.0 % (equals $40)
$12k - $15k = 2.0 % (equals $50)

I have used the extended protection plan and inquired about the rental car insurance and both are great and are hassle free!!

This pays 1% (NOT up to) on everything. And you can redeem it when you hit $25, unlike Citibank which is $100. There is a cap of $60,000 per calendar year though.

First Bank Information

Cash$In Information

Cash$In rewards are not paid on balance transfers, cash advances or convenience checks. Your level of Cash$In reward on new purchases depends upon your total annual usage from the date your account is opened and can reach up to 1%. Cash$In is subject to certain other limitations, terms and conditions which are provided with your Cardmember Agreement.

Can someone who has the Cardmember Agreement post more information about the CashIN plan? How much can you earn? What is it dependent on?

CitiBank (the one I have)

1% On all purchases. The rebate comes after you have earned $100 cash back - meaning a minimum purchase of $10000 before you see any return.

The only good credit card is the one you do not have

Or if you have to have one, keep it paid off. Then it does not matter what the interest rate is.

I like the TJMaxx Capital One card. You get 5% back for all purchases at the TJMaxx chain and its relatives (Marshalls, Homegoods, etc), and 1% for other purchases. This is awesome if you, your girlfriend, or your wife does a lot of shopping at TJMaxx. The rebate is in the form of a TJMaxx gift certificate, but the prices at TJMaxx are so good anyways so a GC is just fine.

I have the Free Cash Rewards Platinum Visa. This is the card with 1% back on all purchases. After $2,500 you can get a $25 check or a gift certificate. I like the account access on the website very much.

I think THIS card might be the best though. It's an ebay visa which also gives 1% back but it credits the percent you've earned to your bill every month. Also, if you use it for automatic payment of your ebay fees, you'll get the first $10 in fees free. Fugly card though :disgust:

Hey guys,
I pay all my bills on time. I run by the theory if I dont have the money dont spend it. Yeah yeah... different. But what can I say I am looking for a really good cashback benefit credit card. I decided if I am spending lots of money why not get something for it. After searchig around it looks like
Fleet CashBack & American Express CashBack
Are my best bets. Does anyone have any ideas on what they think? Tell me what you think is the right one. After reasing everyones views its kind of hard. There has to be "THE BEST CARD for CASHBACK/FLYING

Anyone here have any input on a good Credit Card for a new startup business? I just formed a Corporation and need a credit card to charge all my business expenses on it. Most likely I'll be paying off the balance each month.

Here's a cool one that I found a little while ago. It is called "stockback" and it works like the other cash back ideas. However, the cash goes back into an investment account immediately, so it's not like you are waiting until the end of the year to get your money from Discover. Plus, if you shop through one of their online partners, you can get up to 10% more cash back. For example, at buy.com, you can get 2.5% extra (+1% guaranteed) cash back. I've been using it for a while and it works really well!

Anyone else been using this? stockback

if you have good credit history, i recommend the Business/corporate Gold card, it has

1. BVG (Price Guarantee),
2. you can save 5% at Dell Small Business, sometimes stackable with regular promotions. besides, save upto 20% on fedex shipping.
3. Free Hertz #1 Club Gold membership, $50 value

$75 annual fee waived for first year, and you can save much more than $75 with your first pricematch claim.

I have received 2 different credit card invitations, and I think I will accept one of them because they both offer low interest rates. Since they are invitations and I don't have to apply for them they will not go as a hard inquiry on my credit report. I have 2 or 3 hard inquirys right now which I received in the last 6 months. I also, opened 4 credit accounts in less than a year. My credit score is good for now but it will probably change soon when some of my long term closed accounts start dropping of the report and the average time of my accounts decrease to a few months. So I figured I had better get at least one good interest account while the opportunity is there. The two different invitations I received were
1) ATT Universal Card: 0 % interest on balance transfer until Aug 1, 2003 (the problem is right now I don't have any balance to transfer.) and 9.74 APR, 20 days to pay in full
2) MBNA Platinum Plus with Plus rewards and no annual fee. 1.9 APR for cash advance and balance transfer until APRIL 2003. 9.9 APR on purchases, 25 days to pay in full. With this card you get reward miles or some kind of merchandise.
I would welcome any information anyone has about either card.

Although I think I've read all of this thread over the last month of plugging away at it, I can't be sure if anyone has already mentioned the AMEX Cash rebate card.

Your annual cash reward for everyday purchases at stand-alone U.S. supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations and home improvement stores is up to 3%. Your annual cash reward for all other purchases is up to 1.5%. You will receive an additional rebate of up to 2% for purchases in months in which your account carries a balance. Your cash rewards are limited to $50,000 of eligible spending.

That 2% is just supid. Why would you carry a balance and pay 9% on the balance just to get 2% back? But, the first 3% seems mighty tempting.
