Credit Card question

Ahem...I have a question:

I'm paying back some major CC debt from a long time ago. Haven't used CC's in a long time. Curbed my spending habits. However, I'm wondering how hard it is to get a new CC with bad credit history. I'm paying off 2 CC's which are pretty much closed. I'm finding I need a CC for certain things. Don't worry I truly learned my lesson. I just need to know how hard it is with bad credit and which company would be easily accessible to someone in my state.

They'll still give you credit - just don't expect as high of a limit as you got on your first two.

Providian markets heavily to people who have not so good credit. They charge very high interest rates, but they will take (what they consider to be) the risk of giving you a card. Once you establish yourself with the new card apply with another bank for a better deal and then cancel the one from Providian.
