Umm... old news. I heard they broke up months ago.
Of course maybe this is the first official announcement, but still.
Only true fans know about this stuff!

That is exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure they aren't far behind. They'll either end up playing all Japan shows, or breaking up.

I sure would like to hear some good reasons why there is so much hate towards Creed. And please try not to use un-intelligent arguments like: "they suck", "Stapp is an a$$", etc.
The band sold 30 MILLION on 3 albums, they must be a little better than ok. But, I'm probably wrong, because ATOT is the be all, end all of music truth.

Why I hate Creed:
Saw them twice in concert. The first time, in Madison, WI, this band that nobody had heard of, called 3 Doors Down opened for them. 3 Doors Down rocked the place, everyone was pumped for Creed. They were a dream opening act. Creed came out, and they were horrible. The had no stage presense, they had problems staying in tune, and they had tempo problems. The second time I saw them, they had improved their show, somewhat, but they had a lot more money (2 years later) and most of the improvements were technological and not performance. I alos had seen Dream Theater the night before, so I may have been spoiled by that show, and expected too much from a relatively young band.
As for their albums, they are fine. They don't change their sound much, so it sounds like 2-3 different songs, but I really don't mind listening to them once in a while.
Their first album was good. It showed some variety, refferences to Christianity without being preachy, and other such good stuff.Originally posted by: CPA

I saw them in concert here in Houston about 3 years ago. Thought they were great.

I hated them b/c they were pretentious, derivative (re: What If) and overblown (re: With Arms Wide Open).
Also I hated that song Higher -- it had the most annoying little guitar bit ever, heh.
When the single first came out, I'd hear What If on the radio and alternately think it was Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots or Pearl Jam (depending on what part I was listening to).

Their next two degenerated in to cliche Christian "rock": preachy songs, God as the answer to everything, softer and less "angry" music, lighter, almost saccharine moods to each song, and so on and so forth.
What pissed everyone off was the fact that the radio kept playing them. Over. And over. And again. Trying to get people to like them by repitition. All it did was annoy most anyone who was "on the fence" into disliking them, and drive the ones who didn't particularly care for their music into hating them.
