You have a legal right to an expectation of privacy in your domicile. Everyone knows this. Except the flying piglet, and everyone else in this thread so far. And yeah I know, no one uses the term domicile anymore.

Guys who carry their "whoop-ass" in a briefcase do. LOL

I have a problem with eavesdropping nieghbour. My condo has thin walls and some of the things that I have had heard coming through the walls suggest that my neighbours are eavesdropping on me. I remember I had recently gotten a job offer and was told what the salary would be and repeated the details back to the person in HR. Only to hear someone one from the other unit get up from a corner of the shared wall and say "oh he got a job that pays (stated amount) " they also like to make comments about how I always watch tv or I always talk on the phones with my friends or I am always sleeping. Moving is not a solution right now and I already hung blankets on the shared wall and play the radio to get some priacy. But it seems like this neighbour and her guests have nothing better to do to get in my business and make comments about my life or what they perceive to be my life. Because trust me I am not that talented where I can watch tv, talk to my friends on the phone and sleep all the time. Anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this where I can preserve some shred of privacy with persistance eavesdroppers and I suspect that some stalking may be involved.

Just complain to your landlord about the lack of privacy and they might actually do something about it. Stalking? Call the cops.

You haven't truly enjoyed the english language until you've heard a government employee talking about "domiciling their rig" which apparently means taking the official government car home for the night.

could you be loud and not realize it?

thank god the walls in my apartment are ridiculously thick (pre-war construction ftw) and I can barely hear anything from my neighbors, but one of them just has a ridiculously loud speaking voice and doesn't even realize it. if his windows are open and my windows are open, I can hear him like he was in the room with me.

Fake a call in which you get told really terrible news by a friend. Then, say that you wish you had someone to comfort you, but you feel really alone. Just anyone at all.

Then say you're going to hang yourself and that you will do it in the next five minutes.

And see if your neighbours show up to 'stop' you or if they just do jack shit.

Take notes from what people do in the movies when they want to conceal their conversation in a bugged room - play a radio next to the wall loud enough where they can't listen in on your conversation. Then just go to the other end of the apartment and have your conversations in privacy, sleep, etc..

The porn idea is awesome too - find the dirtiest/nastiest porn you can, convert it to an mp3 file, and set it to repeat over and over.

Mp3 of taking the safety off a shotgun.
Loudly mutter a lot about your stupid neighbor and what you plan to do to him for eavesdropping.
