At the end, when 4 of the top batsmen don't show up, the team can't do anything. Only Dhawan, and later Dhoni, displayed some sense of responsibility and urgency. Getting out within a dozen balls, or staying much longer but not batting according to the target in front just shows they did not realize what they had to do. I am guessing that since each main batsman had played a key role in at least one of the prior matches, they must have felt - "I've done my part. Time for somebody else today"
For all his great name, Virat does not seem to have a sense of occasion. If ever he needed to put a stamp on the game, today was it, with the glory to follow. But I guess he has enough fame, money and fan followingto not worry about such minor things.
I expect Clarke to trump McCullum on sunday, so I may not even watch.
