I am a light gamer, I am building this pc mainly for home use such as light video/photo editing, some multimedia, and future video capture (surveillance cameras) use. Other than that I want a system that will last for a while and run fast when multitasking. I'm hoping for $1400 total build cost:

NZXT Apollo ORANGE NP Orange SECC Steel Chassis $75
Intel BOXDP965LTCK LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard $115
XFX PVT73GU1D4 GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Fatal1ty Professional Series Video Card $130
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply $130
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 $314
Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N5K2/2G - OEM $230
Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $43
Two - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $75 each - $150
Update SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black E-IDE/ATAPI Model SH-S182D - OEM $30

Total cost w/out monitor - $1,246.41

Can someone recommend a cool case and psu to go with?

Thanks!

I have LianLi PC-7B, it's pretty solid and non-gaudy case. Also have the Antec Neo 550 watt PSU. Case cost $100 and PSU cost $60 for me.

Everything looks good on your choices. Though I'd personally prefer E6300 or E6400 (E4300 if you like to Overclock) over the E6600. The extra cache doesn't seem to be worth the price for me.

For a light gamer, a 7600GT is fine, but don't spend that much on one of those. Get this eVGA instead.
OR
This is a much better use of $140, a 7900GS and with both eVGA you can use the step-up program if your needs would change in the next few months or so.

Are you overclocking?

If not, you could save some money on the RAM.

You could go with an e6400 as mentioned before. But that's totally your call. You could then o/c this chip.

Motherboard is a nice choice. However, if you wanted to save some cash and didn't need all the extra features of the Deluxe, check these out too...
P5B-E
S3
DS3

If you make any changes in the build post it up with price totals and how much you want to spend on the PSU.

Please help out with suggestions if you have them, I'm hoping to build a pc soon that is stable, can be overclocked in the future and is great/fast with multimedia apps and multitasking!

Thanks

Not now, perhaps down the road as the speed becomes an issue... I could do the Asus P5B Deluxe, I just didn't like all the negative reviews about their lack of customer service. Whether or not I use it, I don't like to support a company that doesn't support their users - Intel had far better customer support reviews.
