OP,
Forget the haters. Most of them live up North where they don't have the luxury of walking around near bard feet in shorts past August.
YES, Crocs are amazingly comfortable flips and are my chosen flip brand.
I wear the Modi model which is very similar in design to the Baya, which I buy every 2-3 years when the tread wears out and get them on the Croc website in January when everything is 50%+ off.
As to whether one can run in flips, that is 99% true, but the Modi strap goes back far enough that you can without losing your shoe and it's snug enough for driving, even stick shift, which I would never do with another flip. Also Crocs are great if you're heavy-set as you won't crush the sole into a pancake after a few weeks. This brand is made for anyone over 200lbs and they WILL last and give unbelievable orthopedic comfort.
I have a pair of Crocs I bought in 2007. Most durable, most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Still occasionally wear them for a quick trip to the corner...would wear frequently if they didn't have holes in the bottoms.
Being a man is wearing what I like regardless of what opinionated strangers have to say. Could not possibly give less of a shit what other men think of my shoes. Want my man card? It's right here. Let's see what happens when you try to take it. Come on, it'll be fun.
Never knew there was so much hate towards flip-flops and that wearing them makes you less of a man.
Lol whatever
Seriously, this thread makes me laugh.
I don't care to wear sandals or flipflops. I do, on a rare occasion, but only when it's most appropriate.
When a boat (especially to a sandbar) or a beach is the destination, I'm probably going to wear a pair of sandals. Easy on, easy off, I'm not especially worried about removing large quantities of sand before slipping them on, and they do what I ultimately need them to do: add a layer between ground and foot for protection and comfort. I don't want the whole bulk of a shoe that I then have to worry about ensuring my foot is appropriately dry and wiped clean.
I don't vote for wearing them to out on the town, to the park, to class, to shops, etc. I think that's a fairly good line drawn in the sand on the issue.
Especially not over-the-foot style crocs.
The crocs in the OP? Might just be perfect and the kind I'd want. If it's a comfortable and water-resistant flip flop that is sturdy. (unlike my last pair, the thong snapped, it was more a canvas style that I had for well over 10 years and wore perhaps twice a year)
The ones who are so obnoxious about their loathing of flip flops need to give a good moment to thinking about priorities and scale down the crassness of their authoritative opinions on the matter. Your fashion choices likely draw an equal level of disdain.
