CrossFire Power Supply!

Im currently building a pc rig but not sure which power supply to buy to power up 2 ati graphics cards in crossfire mode and the qx6600 processor (im also looking for ultra quiet noises) this rig i will be overclocking! Thankyou for any replies...
Only 1 power supply ive looked at so far is the Thermal Take 850w tough power

It was a quote I had put in one of his other 5 threads asking the same stupid questions really(which was basically just help me just stuff cause I didn't look into it myself which started in video card section)

Sorry guys for chewing you to pieces ...not my fault im a noob when it comes to techy things but i was just confused to why some descriptions says sli ready or crossfire ready> i thought power supplies just powered up the damn thing lol but when i read on saying things like quad rails cable management and sli ready does this mean i wont be able to use crossfire with that particular psu? All i want is a ultra quiet power supply that can power a x38 MoBo 2 sapphire hd 3870 512mb and the intel qx6600(quad core) using a 32" lcd for gaming etc-multi purpose

Crossfire-ready and SLI-ready are essentially marketing gimmicks that are supposed to help sell the PSU. If a PSU can supply sufficient power it doesn't matter which label or it carries, or if it even carries one.

You mean "GPU."

An SLI certified PSU works with Crossfire and vise versa. License agreements with the trademark holders prevent PSU's from being both SLI AND Crossfire certified.

And the certification means little... except for that you're not getting a complete POS (a Deer or Codegen isn't going to do 8800 GTX, for example.) But not EVERYTHING is sent to either Nvidia or ATI for certification.

Oops, I actually meant PSU. It also helps sell GPUs by throwing the name out there I suppose.

probably not necessary to go that high.

two ati 3870's in crossfire use less juice than an 8800GTX Ultra so that should tell you something.

it seems to get good reviews and is ample for a possible quad setup too of x2 hd3870's

doh! I saw the OCZ name and thought "enjoy the ripple" but then I click the link and see it is a PC Power and Cooling Silencer.
