Crossfire question

I have some confusion about Crossfire and I'd like to clear them up.

1) Let's say I have me an ATI 5770 and want to crossfire it with another 5770. Can I just drop the 2nd 5770 into the computer and connect the bridges or will I have uninstall my current display drivers, run driver cleaner, then install the 2nd 5770?

2) Let's say I'm building a computer. Can I have both 5770 cards installed and bridged or is it recommended that I install Windows with one 5770 and install the other one after Windows is installed?

1. the first option is more cleaner : uninstall your current display drivers, run driver cleaner, and then install the 2nd 5770?...

2. Install windows with one card, no install drivers and restart the PC and drop the second and the bridge. Run the install and be happy... .

1. the only time i saw where u might need to reinstall the drivers is when you reverse the card order.
So if the original card went on the bottom as a slave card, and you threw in the new card card up top, then sometimes cat plays havok and you need to reinstall your drivers.

2. Ive reinstalled my OS a TON of times with multi gpu setups. It would be a PITA if i had to only install my OS with 1 gpu when i watercool my gpu's.
So 2, it doesn't matter.

Card recognizes by cat/os. Same as dropping another CPU in dual mobos.

yeah but flip the order of cpu's.

The board will recognize as a new cpu, and say u need to load up preset values.

So card 1... gets moved to card 2.
New card becomes card 1, and not card 2.
