Let the games begin!

Last year I did Master's 45-49 Scaled. This year I am going to try Rx. God help me...

Workout 17.1
For time:
10 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
20 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
30 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
40 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
50 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs

Men use 50-lb. dumbbell and 24-in. box

Time cap: 20 minutes

How did everyone do?

Yes, 30 reps into the last round. My one piece of advice is to pace yourself. The dumbell gets REALLY fucking heavy!

I agree with this. I think I went too fast on the snatches thinking they would take too long. But, I did the math beforehand and assuming 1 burpee box jump over every 4 seconds and 1 dumbbell snatch every 6 seconds, you should be able to finish in exactly 20 minutes. It's just that with all the nervous energy and all the people there screaming, I just kept ending up trying to go hard the whole time instead of keeping the pace I planned out prior.

Nice work, that workout was a bitch

It was terrible. I never roll around on the ground after wods. After this one, I laid on the ground in the gym for a few minutes. Then, I got up, walked outside, and laid down on the pavement for a lot longer.

In retrospect, it seems like I was so close, but in the midst of that agony, nothing could appear as far .

One and done. I paced myself super well and probably could have pushed my time down a minute or two if I re-tested but I'm not going to regionals so who cares!

On to week two!

17.2 Scaled:

I don't have bar muscle ups so I'm still debating trying it RX on Sunday. 35# was plenty heavy for the lunges.

I went Rx and treated it like a 2 rounds for time workout.
78 tiebreak: 6:37
I took my time on the last set of lunges and had 3 minutes to try muscle ups. Almost got one... I might retest on Monday.

Went RX on 17.2, probably the most muscle ups I've done consecutively or in a workout.

115 Reps, 10:06 tie-break. Same score as Castro with a bit better tie-break so I'll take it!

17.2 RX:

78 (5:38 tie break)

I was able to chicken wing my left arm which has never happened before but alas that was as far as I got. I attribute it to Open magic.

Workout 17.3

Prior to 8:00, complete:
3 rounds of:
6 chest-to-bar pull-ups
6 squat snatches, 95 lb.
Then, 3 rounds of:
7 chest-to-bar pull-ups
5 squat snatches, 135 lb.
*Prior to 12:00, complete 3 rounds of:
8 chest-to-bar pull-ups
4 squat snatches, 185 lb.
*Prior to 16:00, complete 3 rounds of:
9 chest-to-bar pull-ups
3 squat snatches, 225 lb.
*Prior to 20:00, complete 3 rounds of:
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups
2 squat snatches, 245 lb.
Prior to 24:00, complete 3 rounds of:
11 chest-to-bar pull-ups
1 squat snatch 265 lb.

*If all reps are completed, time cap extends by 4 minutes.

Looks like 3 rounds for time for me...

My 17.2 score was rejected! ugh no idea what happens but no regionals for me...

That's weird. Do you know for certain that your affiliate's owner verified your score on time?

For 17.3, I'm hoping to get at least 1 snatch at 135#. My 1RM is 145# and I've done 135# for reps, albeit, very slowly. I want to speed through the first three rounds and get a decent tie break score.

Both my coach and I both have help tickets submitted, so hopefully that will get fixed.

My PR used to be 115. Now it's 135. Boom...

what are you seeing for heart rate? anyone?
I wouldn't say most people measure their heart rate during CF workouts. I know some people measure vo2 during some training but that's mostly elite athletes.

Anyways, 17.3 was a fun was. Was really hoping to get a 185# snatch (my 1RM) but just didn't have it in me.

80 reps, 7:30 tie break.
