It's not SFP but it's still an excellent HD CRT and the last of its type. It doesn't have the reliability issues of the XBR960 either.
Resolution is only one aspect (of many) of picture quality. Plasmas do offer good contrast ratios but for the price it's difficult to beat a CRT. As for a CRT being only for 4:3 SD content -- you're pointing out that you really don't know what you're talking about.Originally posted by: cheap
A Plasma TV has the best HD picture quality IMO. CRT is an analog technology, they blur a bit and do not provide as sharp picture as digital (fixed pixel) TVs at high resolution. Only get CRT if you still watch regular low res 4:3 broadcasts.
Picture quality is a subjective matter anyway. I personally prefer CRT's but plasmas are definitely a close second. Hopefully newer LCD tech will improve LCD displays because they're currently worthless IMO.
