You can try vacuuming it out. Years of dust, piled up will take its toll on electronics.

Very bad idea. DO NOT open a CRT TV. Those things can retain lethal voltage levels long after they're unplugged.
Take it to a certified TV repair shop, or just splurge on a new LCD.
I could use one for some old PS2 "light gun" games. But I sure as hell will not attempt to move a 200+ lb tv up 3 flights of stairs!probably a cold solder or a bad cap or resistor somewhere...just get a new flat TV...I can't even get people to buy my 36" CRT HDTV ready TV for $50.
Yes, this is true. At any rate, I doubt the wife would be happy about itIf you don't care about new tech and another crt will suffice then just check craigslist for people wanting to unload theirs. I wouldn't be surprise to find people giving them away for free.
