Availability will be later in this quarter.

MSRPs for the MX200 are $140 for 250GB, $250 for 500GB and $470 for 1TB.
MSRPs for the BX100 are $70 for 120GB, $110 for 250GB, $200 for 500GB and $400 for 1TB.

I'm guessing these MSRPs are high and we'll see better prices than this shortly after launch. Hopefully we see some closeout sales on the 512GB MX100 when these new ones come out.

BX100 seems like an odd choice, less features than the MX100, at a higher price as well.

The other news is, they are finally releasing their own SSD utility.
This makes it the last big NAND company to offer a utility. Both sammy & toshiba already had one.

Edit:
This utility is written in Java, and has a *web* based interface, so it isn't as convenient as sammy's or toshiba's utility that is stand alone.
As for features, pretty basic, SMART, firmware check, then sanitize drive & PSID revert.
Trying the sanitize drive option brings up:
SANITIZE BLOCK ERASE OPERATION NOT AVAILABLE

Sanitize block erase operation cannot be performed because TCG is active on the drive. Perform a PSID Revert operation instead.

Overall, not worth installing if you have crystaldiskinfo for SMART monitoring.
It also is odd in that it shows host writes as X, then you need to multiply by 512 to get the actual write amount.
This could have been easily calculated for the user, like crystaldiskinfo does.
The other SMART attributes listed are also in crystaldiskinfo.

It was very hard for me not to pull the trigger on the 256GB M550 4 day sale ...
$90 is back up to 120-160 now
Guess i'll just wait for the MX200, not like I _need_ a new ssd now
My 128GB M4 is still going strong.

They are probably being cautious with the BX100 after the V300 backlash Kingston experienced. They could have very well kept the MX100 name or called it MX150 to be less confusing but now because Kingston effed up we are going to see a future filled with different model numbers of pretty much the same drives.

Actually, its a great choice. It will be faster (every other sm drive was anyway) and more power efficient.
Everything else... Well you dont really need it. Powerloss protection is a joke (not really full power loss protection), ecryption is a blackbox solution, so not really the best way to encrypt sensitive data.

If BX100 eventually ends up cheaper than mx100 in street pricing, it will make a lot of sense. MX200 not so much (judging by the m600 performance..)

the BX100 is available in stock now on some online stores, and it is advertised as having Random reads/writes up to 90k / 87k IOPS, which is very good.

Will wait for reviews about their endurance test to see how many cycles are they rated for, MLC or TLC, and their power consumption.

They have current gen 16nm Micron MLC NAND, so they're likely rated for 3000 P/E cycles (although Crucial's warranty only stops at 72 TBW).
