<< A guy I know bought a DOA stick of RAM (not Crucial) from BB and they would not accept a return because it had been installed. I don't know what that is all about but I would think twice before dealing with a place that might pull that kind of crap. I sure hope BB doesn't make a habit of this policy. >>
that's BS
I work at a Best Buy as a service Tech and we return opened ram all the time as long as its within the return policy (14 days)
I think someone neds to get their facts straight, or someone needs to report that to a corporate office...besides, what do you think the open box items are? something the employees pick up and say "Gee, um, let's have a look-see?" I think not.
Anyway, yes, crucial ram is at best buy, yes it is overpriced (59.99 for a 256mb DDR PC2100 i believe) No it does not mean a degredation in quality....think about that, I'm sure crucial/micron realy wants to ruin their reputation that way huh?
Anyway, this is a hot deal if you have a friend that works @ Best Buy as the employee price for that 256mb DDR PC2100 stick is ~38.60
If you don't know for sure, or you heard it from someone who heard it from someone, don't repeat it, you'll only look like an a$$.
Not that I'm supporting best buy, I just hate too see peple make themselves look stupid when they say total BS or pull things out of their a$$e$
rant over, this is getting locked anyway.
edit (b4 lock): if you want SKU, or exact pricing info, did it ever occour to you that you can go to bestbuy.com
wow, will wonders never cease?
(all jacked off b/c of serious back probs and and abcessed tooth, for which pain meds are doing nothing, and sleep hasn't come in 4 days/nights....if you have a prob with the above, f$ck off.)
