This is great ram i have 2 running at 1050 fsb at 5-5-5-12 i bought 4 sticks $49.99 for 2 cant get all 4 to work together so i sent 2 back.

according the the newegg reviews these have a high failure rate but then again so do all the sticks of ram under $75.

Not sure which newegg reviews you're looking at. This model RAM (BL2KIT12864AA804) gets mostly stellar reviews at newegg.

I believe you saw the unusually high failures reported on some of the Crucial Ballistix Tracer models. They supposedly get very hot and some people are speculating that the heat is causing them to fail.

I know the newegg reviews are pretty flaky because half the people that write them don't know what they are doing but I still look at them for the opinions that do sound educated.

Just because Crucial has been a good company doesn't mean everything they put out is going to be problem free. Read the above post.

I have a set of Tracers along with several of the non-Tracer version. The Tracers have failed, probably due to the finger-burning heat. Short of a CPU or GPU, I've never felt that kind of heat from a computer component. The non-Tracers are fine.

I'm hoping Crucial will replace the failed Tracers with non-Tracers.
