How do you refurbish something that is no more then a memory controller and memory chips? Kind of like hard drives and ram, refurbished here probably means returns, although atleast it is manufacture tested.

money. I'm having issues with my cpu running too hot and possibly being faced with having to buy a new one and motherboard. Plus every time I think about spending $60 on a 128gb ssd everyone in storage is like "no, no, you need a 256gb one for reasons" so I hold off. But for $29 I could't lose! oh well.

According to a posted chat over at slickdeals most who ordered will be out of luck, this is the CS response to one question

I don't have any ETA on additional re-certified inventory. There were 3000+ orders for 500-700 units. When I say that they were gone almost instantly; it's no exaggeration. They're working on fulfilling orders manually and it may just be back log. I can't see any available stock from where I sit.

I ordered 2 (4:30 am cst on the 15th) and received a confirmation email but order status is still at processing.

Not really.

If you allow one customer to place an order for 700 drives, it's going to take very little time for the supply to clear up. Most companies place limits to ensure that many customers are satisfied and not just one or two big customers.

Sure, a better system might help, but the fact those drives were gone in a day and the report above indicated orders for 700 an order or more, it would seem there is enough demand for them to limit the quantity.

I understand that you want to sort of spread the wealth but with a better system it would not matter if one person bought 700 or 700 people bought one each the inventory would equal zero and stop taking orders.
