My notebook uses PC2700 ram... I don't use this notebook for gaming, but would still like very fast performance speed. The Crucial is $22 cheaper than the Corsair RAM, however, I don't mind paying more. Which brand offers faster speed and quality?

You're not going to get noticeable perfomance increase going with the Corsair. Save your $22 and get the crucial.

....or better yet, check Newegg.com. They have lots of pc2700 sodimms that are even cheaper.

I would get something different and save money @ newegg like gov said. Not worth the money imo.

Somehow I still think Corsair is better because of the brand name? I'm not going to overclock... but somehow I really want to buy Corsair because they seem more of a trustable brand.

Also, should I buy pc2700 (default) or should i get PC3200?

it wont matter which ram you get they will all perform so closely that you wont be able to tell. Since its a laptop you wont be overclocking, which means the ram wont matter much. I'd say go for pc3200 ram if the price is close (a dollar or two), which it usually is, since by having pc3200 ram on hand, if you upgrade to a new laptop, theres a better chance you can use your ram in your new laptop or be able to sell the ram on the forums more easily

I don't think I'll be upgrading to a new laptop.... Will PC3200 and PC2700 run at the same speed for my notebook though? (it uses PC2700 default)

I was wondering that also..... I think I'm going to go with the PC2700.... Is that a wise choice or not?
