Crucial is a division of Micron. I think it's pretty safe to say they use Micron DRAMs. Now the question is what speed these are. Most likely 5ns.

Just an update. Got my response from Crucial support, and I applaud them for answering my question. Here it is:

"Hello,

The components on the PC3200 modules we offer are Samsung. The chips on the
module are:
K4H560830D"

Now does anyone less lazy than me want to go to samsungs site and look up that chip?

AFAIK, the D on the string doesn't look good for OC.
But if you run it in spec, there should be no problem.

Btw, never seen 560830D, it was usually K4H560808D?

Is it better to just get their PC2700 chips and try to OC them or try to find some other ram...... maybe the memoryx $76 Twinmos/Winbond....

What is the best bang for the buck now in terms of getting higher speeds?

Now that is wacky...they always hyped how they made their own stuff and had such strict testing, now they are hawking Samsung chips?

not really, crucial uses whatever chips are most cost effective. I believe on their 512MB modules of PC2100 they used samsung chips, and I know they used em on other modules as well.

Yep, they also used Infineon for a while for PC2700. If it makes more sense from a cost standpoint to purchase modules from another mfg. than to upgrade your fab processes, go with another mfgs. modules.
