I used to buy only crucial memory, but now I buy Kingston or Samsung. Googlegear has PC2700 Kingston for $82.50 shipped via FedEx 2Day. I don't do any overclocking, but at this price, just buy more RAM!

Not necessarily. Sure, lots of companies will cave and start charging tax for everyone. Hell, Wal-Mart already crumbled and others will follow. But a huge number of online companies will fight taxes with their dying breath. As more companies do start taxing more business will flow to the e-tailers that don't. There's a pretty big financial incentive for online companies to not tax, so most won't do it until the feds break down their office doors and force them to.

Back to the good old days I got my 1st Crucial stick like October 2001 for $32 total after taxes and all. It was like $28 or something back then. The price shot to over 100 bux for 256 2100, but when it went to like 35ish (after coupons and stuff) I got another 256 for 39 total. It's very possible that the prices may roller coaster again, so stock up

Building 2 computers (and upgrading my RAM ) so I bought 6 sticks. I would have waited longer, but this was the last thing I had to buy before I could finish building the computers ... I was sick of my brothers breathing down my neck to finish building these things. Plus, it was my dad's extra $10/stick not my own .

Damn, DDR SODIMM have dropped also, but not the 512MB . I already have 512MB in my Inspiron but wanted to go 1GB. Hopefully the 512MB SODIMM will drop.

I really really wish that Crucial would lower the price of its 512 SDRAM CL-2 price of 80 bucks. I bought 512's worth for 56 dollars at one point and thought that prices would drop even further. Is there any explaination for the increase of older memory and the price drop in the newer ones?
