Considering that all the other memory is more in line with the previous prices, (i.e. 512 is still ~$200, 128 is still ~$50, other versions of 256 are still ~$100 and up), and the SDRAM is still up there, and pricewatch prices haven't really changed, and that I checked the price earlier today and it was still up at $90+, I would guess this might be a price mistake. I would say this is a good time to order a 256 meg stick Memory prices are not going to go down to what they were last year for quite a long while, memory manufactures were selling them at a LOSS. Belive me, they will do just about everything they can to avoid that condition again $40 per 256 I can see happening in year or sometime at the end of the year, but $25 probably not, at leasts that's my gut feeling
Now I could be wrong, or perhaps crucial for some reason has an overstock of 256 (I can't imagine them doing it even if they did, since they are still quite popular), or whatever, but if I was in the market for some good memory I'd probably take advantage of this. Even if it is a price mistake, I imagine crucial would honor it.
<< "Used" to be....
Ram used to be really really cheap before it was really really expensive.
Edit: I messed up, should be really really expensive before it was really really cheap. >>
Actually both, it used to be really expensive, then really cheap, then really expensive again
