Forgive me but I must have missed the review that shows that memory running at other then 1:1 is appreciably faster then 1:1 at lower timings, lower voltage and lower heat.

If you could back up and provide that review I would appreciate it.

Also, pick Crucial over Mushkin. Guaranteed D9 and lifetime warranty.

The Mushkin PC6400 & PC8500 both use D9 chips currently & also have a lifetime warranty.

Nothing wrong with Crucial, but those arn't valid reasons to choose one company over the other in this case.

So the Crucial Ballistix uses micro d9 chips?

THANKS

The crucial ballistix have the micro d9 chips. I just bought these yesterday to go with my p35c-dsr3 board.

You can't beat the price!!! $60 after rebate and promo code

Personally, I would go for whatever brand was a better deal.

DDR3 is right around the corner so why lose sleep over old style RAM?

Majority of the folks here highly recommended Crucial so I guess I will go along with the majority and purchase Crucial.

Not to thread jack but will I experience any noticeable difference when purchasing a DDR2 800 and DDR2 1066 when running on stock speeds?

You don't need DDR2-8500 even if you do overclock. Running memory at the highest speeds doesn't always yield the best performance. It is better to run tight timings at the highest possible speed.

Both are great companies, i would just get whatever is cheaper. I own the Mushkin XP2-8500 and it is great. However, i usually recommend the Crucial because of the price right now. Both are essentially the same ram. Both use D9's. So just get one or the other of DDR2-800
