Wow, that looks really low rez. You can see the aliasing on the gun even in that tiny little video.

the video itself is really low res check the xbox 360 and ps3 logos at the beginning

from what I saw it looked better than cryengine 2 in dynamic lighting, so to be running on a console it seems pretty awesome, here's hoping more games will use it, I'm kinda tired of the unreal engine

Gametrailers is down at the moment but I looked at the HD feed from IGN. Doesn't look too bad graphically for a console. Lots of stuff going on with draw distance and objects.

And I think that is the most important qualifier...for a console. The PS3 and 360 don't have the latest and greatest video cards in them so they aren't going to be able to pull off the same stuff as a top of the line PC.

More consoles ports for the PC is what it means, nothing more. I can already imagine PC players waiting for hi-resolution textures modifications, and maybe models as well, for Crysis 2 and/or 3. Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but that video certainly looks like it will be the case, other than the physics effects the actual visuals are only comparable to the medium setting of Crysis... and even then...

I just hope this engine is a bit more efficient. Warhead runs like crap on my quad core based PC... especially those ice areas.

Glad you posted that one. It looks SO much better than the one in the OP. Looks like a lot of the aliasing is from the gt vid player itself.

I like the fact that you have brought this up. Considering that the PS3 and Xbox 360 GPU's are equivalent to a 7900GT and X1900 respectfully, this is actually quite an undertaking and looks impressive all things considered...only 512mb per system too, don't forget this either!

This is the console port...I have no doubt in my mind that the PC version will be just as if not more so impressive that the current CryENGINE 2 for PC...I'm leaning on the more impressive side as its the 3rd iteration of their engine.

Agreed. That vid looks much better. If they can pull it off, it would be a good thing to see CryEngine 3 on consoles. I'm a big fan of Far Cry and the Crysis games, and I want to see more of them.

Looks pretty good on the consoles, considering it's just coded down in translation. They won't have to sit there and scratch their heads on how to program for the PS3. The dynamic lighting of course still looks better on the 360. it will be interesting to see if developers use this or the dev kit that Sony put together from what they learned from KZ2.
