Hey guys, is eBay selling ltc and btc worth it? Or is it too risky?

Wondering this also. How are people preventing the buyers from filling claims with Paypal? I thought Ebay/Paypal required a physical item to be sold and shipped before they offered any type of seller protection? No/yes?

Turns out adding mining cards is addictive. Just got a 7790 to go with my 5870, but I WANT MORE.

I posted my Asus DCII 670 for sale so that I can buy a 7950 or 7970 instead. What's the card to get these days? I want something with 2 DVI connectors, voltage unlocked if possible. Quality cooling is also important to me.

Hey guys I want to sell some of my LTC to USD. What's the best and easy way to do so? I thought about btc-e.com but the only ways to withdraw money are not trustworthy unless you had 1k+ like western union or money gram.

COnvert to BTC, send to MtGox and sell the BTC and withdraw your USD there...

For those who care, I have a 7850 and 7750 both 1gb. I get 366ish and 166ish mining ltc with my max PC with MSI afterburner...

And this little hobby is starting to become a PITA trying to find a way to get cash without losing it all to fees lol

Thanks. I'm in Canada, so NCIX would be the best for me. They have that card for $389 AR. I think it's the same one:

+1 for that Sapphire 7970. I have 4 of them mining LTC. No issues. Straight out of the box with no tweaking I got ~650kh/s per card. The cooler on the card seems to be very good. Note though that this is a 3 slot card.

FYI, AMD cards with 2x DVI have one single link and one dual link DVI. Don't buy one if you need 2x DL-DVI. You'll need to buy an expensive DP->DL-DVI adapter (~$90) to have 2x DL-DVI.

2nded to coinbase.com, the only BTC <> USD service that I know how to use. Dwolla wouldn't approve me for whatever reason (no mtgox), BTC-E has all these shady services, fastcash only supports BTC > USD, don't want to deal with OTC, etc.

Thanks for the heads up. My displays are both 19x12 - I think that will run on single link, will it not?

I could always go to DP in the future if need be, but I'd prefer not to have to buy a new miniDP -> DP cable if I don't have to.

19*12 uses SL-DVI, you'll be fine. If you do end up buying a DP cable down the road make sure it's VESA compliant. Apparently most are not. I know Accell cables are.

Edit: It's a good bonus if you get a DP-> DVI adapter as part of the card's bundle. If you ever decide to go eyefinity (seeing as you already have 2 monitors you might?) you'll already have the adapter if you get another DVI monitor.

Random question, I just setup my new 7970 (Gigabyte 3 fan OC model) and while it works great, once I updated my mobos bios, I am getting fan rattling and some graphical glitches when I mine. Is this normal? I'm running GUIminer and am using -v -w128 -f0 flags though the computer is far more responsive than my other rig mining with a 5870 and the same flags.

The noise is just when the fans are above 85% and it sounds like a fan bearing or something so I'm not so worried about that. The glitches are what worry me. The temps are hovering in the high 60's, far lower than my 6970 or 5870 like to get so that seems more comforting.

Thoughts?

In my experience, graphic glitches are common with 13.x+ drivers. Try 12.6 through 12.8.

Guys..some bit of help here...I am on BTCGuild pool with GUIMiner, but GUIMiner will sometimes stop mining either due to various error such as IO error/Long poll error etc. Basically if I leave all the miners running overnight, I'll be lucky to have at least one of them still mining the next morning...

What can I do to fix this? It is caused by the BTCGuild pool going down? Which one is the most stable pool out there now?

are you using mdi afterburner to control voltage fan setting etc?

try msi 2.3.1 set voltage at .95 core at 900
set memory at 1.5 volts and 685-750
set power plus at -10
set fans at constant 50% it will hash in the 500 to 540 area but power drops a real lot. 50 watts it make up for the loss of hash rate.
manual link below

Use the stratum server.

I was having the same problem with ABCPool, so I switched pools. I'm now on 50BTC and have had zero connectivity issues in 25 hours.

Three of my five mining rigs are back to BTC mining. LTC mining is currently only ~20% more profitable than BTC mining. Take into account the instability of pretty much every LTC pool, the finickiness of scrypt mining and that 20% get's nullified quickly. Tomorrow after work I will probably convert the remaining two rigs back to BTC.
