This setup wasn't exactly meant for mining much less with a 3 slot card next to a dual slot card with the PSU blowing into them. (Never mind the mess in the case, it's just a little trial run)

With dual settings I got both cards error free, however one is half or less than what I think it should be.

^
check if it is clocked right, see if both cards are using the same memory chips.
check if crossfire is disabled,

How do the new altcoin currencies work?

When looking at something like dogecoin, it was at
0.00000017 BTC/doge and
0.000033 LTC/doge.

Looking a little later it was at
0.00000021 BTC/doge and
0.00004 LTC/doge

So apparently the amount of doge to get a bitcoin is changing swiftly?
Is there a trend to this or is it just down to trades etc (as popularity/mining increases)?

Switching from luckyminers to http://doge.netcodepool.org/ for now

http://doges.org/index.php?topic=1097.0

edit: got 32k coins on netcodepool in an hour but luckyminers only gave me 44k in 2-3 hours
Only because it was delayed right? There's 2% fee compared to 1% fee..

Announcement at luckyminers:

Backlog is almost gone. Also another server is coming.
Some might think the share don't get payed but they are all being processed, and you DO get payed.
The speed in the dashboard can be incorrect. You should note the speed in your mining client.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

It's just like how you trade other cryptocurrencies. Supply and demand I guess?

For dogecoins did you use pretty much the same settings in cgminer as the ones for Litecoin, just changing the server, worker, and pw?

Yup. I switched over three of my mining rigs to Dogecoin and am now a Doge millionaire

Using the luckyminers pool with decent results.

If you can keep your 7970 under 60 while mining that's a huge improvement. Mine is so damn loud with the reference cooler and runs at about 85*C. It is 15 degrees Fahrenheit here today and the only reason I like the reference coolers because they serve as mini space heaters since they blow hot air directly outside of the case.

Even if you can only get an additional 200kH/s with your 7790, I would still put it to work if you have an available slot. They don't use a lot of power and 200kH/s will give you a couple of extra coins every month.

I gave up trying to get the 7790 to work with the 7970.

I am running the 7970 solo. it earned .4 ltc in 37 hours , But from a rig sitting in a box doing nothing to a rig making more .2 ltc a day I can't complain.

my rig is pulling 250 watts. so my attached garage now gets a space heater that makes money.

I've been mining Doge with luckyminers for about 20mins with 0 transactions showing up, i assume this is because of the back log. I mined with NetcodePool for about 10 and all the transactions showed up almost instantly.

Edit: Yup, starting to show up now.

I just noticed on my Nvidia rig I was using cudaminer through a batch file that did not specify the -p password option for the worker. How come it still works?

some pools don't have a password for your miner. even if they say they do.

for btc bitminter.com has disabled its passwords so if you just give proper worker you are fine

It's easy. If you're not stupid, you stick with btc/ltc. Anything else is waste of time.

Dogecoin made me $250 USD overnight (yes, already transacted to DOGE --> BTC --> USD and on its way to the bank). That will "compensate" me for not mining LTC at the moment.

tl;dr Switched all rigs to Doge, much wow.
