Yeah I meant from my quite weak mining. The total output is far more, but I already saw a decline in 24 hrs.

I'm still skeptical about how far it will go simply due to the fact the creator is likely sitting on enough coins to crash it with one sale (surely with all the altcoins). Additionally, 100 billion coins is absurdly many.

Where did you see this? As far as I'm aware there was no "premine".

Once Dodge will hit Cryptsy or other popular exchange website, it will fly away. It already began. I would hold.

Just a guess, I have no idea (thus the likely).

Are there stats that can be tracked? Do we know how many have been mined etc? It would be good if it could be confirmed that it's not true, that was just a thought and I haven't followed the altcoins much.

I found a block totals thing and it claims all time is at 700 million. I don't know if it's just that pool or everything.

So at the current rate of growth, what do you think is the best way to cash out on this? Mine a few millions and sell asap?

Nobody knows tbh, its up to you to decide. But given past history with several other recent altcoins, getting and holding early coins = massive profits later. MASSIVE.

Who has a guess as to why a 7950 just won't work over intensity 12. At 12 changing the core has little effect and it's only hashing at ~200/m without getting errors. Changing the intensity results in errors quickly especially if the hash is at like 450 then the errors are like 90%.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool:3333 -u user -p pw --thread-concurrency 7168 -I 12 -w 256

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It worked in games at ~950 MHz core. Now I've undervolted it to .95v with 850 core and 1480 memory.

Just a warning if you register on coinedup.

Warning - don't login with my Yahoo OpenID to coinedup.com
I tried 2 random, old burner Yahoo accounts and it had a rocketmail.com (Yahoo owned) as the owner with previous transactions.
I didn't realize it a first and I got robbed of ~.5btc

mining unstablizes previously stable gaming OC. change the settings and lower ur vram clocks, if it runs too fast GDDR5 has EC which slows down performance.

I run 1050/1350 ratio and get 586 kHa/s on my 7950, 50% fan speed on PCS+ which is SILENT. It can go higher but then it becomes noisy and this mitx rig is supposed to be quiet.

My Doge account balance hasn't moved for the whole afternoon..

I must not be following. How do you create a dogecoin wallet? I downloaded the client and it already has a dogecoin.conf file in it with rpc user and password.

Run dogecoin-qt.exe, and leave the .conf alone

Is there a way to withdraw small amount of $ to lets say, paypal? I checked BTC-e but you need 500USD and there is 7%(!) fee. What is the best way to withdraw money?
Sorry if it is asked 1000th time here ;P

For small amounts, I found that it's just easier to convert it to Bitcoin and spend it on something like a gift card. There are quite a few oddball stores that take Bitcoin now.

Pick something from here, and go nuts:

So this is problematic. I haven't formatted yet but I left CGMiner and CGWatcher on before I went to sleep last night. Woke up this morning to see that it wasn't mining after 4am! All I had was a black CMD screen! It's not the first time this happened and I have the settings set in CGWatcher to ensure that it'll mine if the API stops. Right now I'm out and set it to restart mining every 4 hours.

Well the Linux dogeminer-qt will not connect to the network.

I don't think I want it to either. What kind of BS is this anyway, billions and billions of coins? What is the owner getting out of this, and where is he getting it.

Might need to put the conf file in the right folder before the wallet can connect. I needed to do that on the windows wallet.

As for the actual mining, it should cgminer doing the work.

The client is one type of wallet. You set up an address so you can receive payments. But if you join a pool, the coins are on the pool's website until you cash out your earnings. The payout is sent to your wallet's address.

Well, $250 a day (as someone here said) seems massive to me. Are you talking much higher figures?
I would normally agree, but seeing how this currency looks like some meme joke (and those retarded broken english stupid phrases around it don't give it much credibility either) and artificially blown up bubble, what if ir just disappears next month?

Thing is it IS a joke. Look at the block rates and the economy. It was set up completely as a parody to virtual currencies Reddit-style from day 1. Completely tongue-in-cheek. What you're seeing is the altcoin spread speculators. It's quite literally a brand new altcoin. Maybe it takes off. Maybe it doesn't. Those that made their fortunes on the Bitcoin bubble have money to throw around. Why not pour a few bucks into every brand new altcoin when they first come out, buy when they're cheap, tuck away your wallet for a rainy day and come back 3 years later when THAT altcoin magically is worth $1400/coin (and you happen to have a few million of them in your wallet!).

The speculators aren't paying attention to the setup of the coin economy for a particular coin. They're just buying them when they see it at whatever the market is.

On the flip side, the really weird thing about dogecoin is there honestly seems to be a fledgling economy for it. It's a completely parody economy, but there is one none the less. There's already dedicated sites to exchanging dogecoin, gambling, lotto, giveaways, contests, X Prize. Hell, they're trying to make it the official currency of Reddit (or at least that particular sub). It has a freaking cult-like following. Dogecoin might actually have more staying power than most of the other altcoins out there.

So I closed cgminer to try another pool and now no matter what I when I start cgminer the memory clock stays pegged to 150mhz and the power tune is set to 0%. Was working fine not 30mins ago, all I changed was the pool address and worker. Memory clocks up fine in games.

This has been working fine for 2 days and now nada, any ideas?

It's finicky like that. I just grabbed the .bat batch file I had and unzipped the cgminer again and put the batch file in there and away it went.

Thanks for clarification, I wasn't quite sure. I don't follow this subculture as I find it utterly stupid (few of the memes are funny though), so I couldn't really tell.
I guess it's worth mining it for a month and see what happens. I don't think it has any chance to last, but maybe there is still a way to make some money off it. The question is why. You really have to have at least partially businessman-like brain to be able to profit from these things.

Well I guess I'm boned. Can't get it mining again, tried two different versions of cgminer and reinstalled the Cata drivers. Nada, can't crack 14kh/s because the memory doesn't scale up. Both games and furmark work just fine.

The owner probably made thousands once it got listed on an exchange. Everything else is just gravy at this point
