I feel dumb now. I apparently already registered for the netcode pool... Lost 20h of Doge mining. Dumb me. Profit gone.

such sad. lost doges.

wow.

I hate using wallet miners. Not very efficient. I was getting about half the primes/sec with the Primecoin wallet miner before I switched to a third party miner.

Are you mining it now or do we have to wait till Tuesday? I can't seem to find a link to download it...

I found:
http://memorycoin.org/downloads/memorycoin-qt-latest.zip
but it doesn't work

edit 2:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=370806.msg3961388#msg3961388 works.... super slow... but it works!

There isn't really an alternative miner for the prime miners (yet), at least not for memorycoin 2.0. It's designed to be slow on purpose. I'm getting 1.74 hashes/min on 4 threads. Apparently, that's decent from what I'm seeing.

Welcome to the club.

Glad that you are up an running.
Just had to go to the settings and select the number of cores you wanted to mine with.

I myself prefer third party miners. But they 'll take a few days considering this Coin just came out today.

There is not much info out there even for the parameters of the default client. Give it some time.

Also it depends on your luck when you will find a block.
Some people havent found one eventhough they are running 25 computers. Lolz..

While some have already found their blocks.

1 Block is like ~ 2.4 MMC right now.

*sigh* another CPU coin. Doing back of the envelope calculations, with 2 hpm you're looking at about 3.5 days to get a block.

This chart makes me think that I finally found something worthy of my i7 4770k Supposedly memory coin mining performance is based on AES NI encryption.

What CPU are you mining on? Did you have to enable AES in BIOS?

I downloaded the wallet client, been open for about 5 minutes now, still no connections found.

Still trying to figure out how to start this thing up and get it mining! I went to settings and tried to start mining on 8 processes, but nothing happens. I see at the bottom that it is calculating hashrate (may take 4 minutes) but my CPU utilization is sitting at less than 10%.

It seems like it is enabled by default but I think I read somewhere that you might have to enable it in the BIOS.

Anyway, I finally got it up and running using this config:

rpcuser=memorycoinrpc
rpcpassword=[FILL IN A PASSWORD HERE]
rpcport=1925
rpcallow=127.0.0.1
server=1
addnode=180.183.156.250:1968
addnode=76.24.94.154
addnode=62.43.2.239
addnode=82.52.177.81
addnode=84.249.109.128
addnode=79.3.168.143:1968
addnode=94.122.229.201:1968
addnode=118.210.212.90:1968
addnode=70.112.30.253:1968
addnode=95.89.105.134:1968
addnode=209.12.233.40:14210
addnode=79.113.210.250:51653
addnode=62.142.165.113:49646
addnode=86.106.35.224:1968
addnode=89.210.201.182:59197
addnode=84.228.200.63:50831
addnode=81.174.50.66:51930
addnode=213.197.188.148:43212
gen=1

I assume the only thing I have to change is the password, correct?

One pool robbed got. Uhappiness many. 54 million profit coins hacker (or owner? ).

I'd keep them in a wallet and not in one of those pools.

Difficulty 71. Profit less.

Actually you have kind of hovered into my difficulty.

I cant find the config file to edit.. ???

I just downloaded the zip.
Extracted it and started the wallet and it started mining after it was done syncing.

Where actually is the config file.
Could you tell me please.

And as to you question, try looking at around page 26 or 27 of the blog i posted the link to.

A guy has posted his config settings.
You just need to change the password.

And if it is the one that you posted then I think you will need to change the username to you wallet receiving address.
As that is what I changed in the config when I started primecoin on beeeeer pool.

And also change the password.

semms like the game last 24h was to drive the doge price down as much as possible. Some people bought crazy amounts.

Stupid luckyminers went offline at night, so I lost seven hours already. That sucks ass. I am doomed not to get any profit from this.
And my damn balance is still 19k coins. Even with random rewards I should have few times that mining in a pool.
I should have stayed with ltc.

Dude, try to set up multiple pools like I suggested couple posts up.

Luckyminers is doing a server upgrade so fingers crossed they come back online with my balance intact...

Hm, I might do that. I would just add more pool in the command line arguments and it would automatically switch?
Recommend me another pool besides luckyminers then, please.

I do it with CGWatcher, but here are instructions with cgminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68901.msg803287#msg803287 (CGwatcher is basically a GUI to control cgminer)

Yes, it'll automatically switch if one pool goes down! I just 'discovered' using multiple pools, heck I've even got wemineltc as a 3rd backup in case both doge pools go down, I'm still mining something.

The other pool I'm on currently is netcodepool but they've closed off registrations. Here is a list of some other Doge pools: http://doges.org/index.php/board,20.0.html

Oh, so CGWatcher is basically an alternative to guiminer? Doesn't that lower your hashrate, as numerous sources say?

Yeah, but it's got so many more features than guiminer. Check it out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159267.0

Not sure about the overhead, I've read about performance penalty too but maybe it's negligible. Anyone have any solid performance numbers regarding guiminer vs. cgminer standalone?

I can't tell for sure, but when I launched it while mining in the background from command line, it was constantly locking up, I couldn't click buttons, and it took several seconds to redraw windows and stuff, so there's definitely something fishy going on. I wouldn't be surprised if it cut 10% of performance down. But that's rather easy to test: mine from command line for 5 mins, note down the average hash rate, and do the same with CGWatcher. I can't do it right now, but someone else probably can.

Sounds like the intensity is set too high, if you want to be working on your computer at the same time
