So my rig died AGAIN last night. WTF. Here's the log:

Code:
[16/12/2013 1:52:38 AM] The computer is no longer idle.
[16/12/2013 1:52:38 AM] Computer is no longer idle, returning GPU intensities to their original values...
[16/12/2013 1:52:38 AM] GPU0 (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series) intensity changed from 19 to 15 because the computer is no longer idle
[16/12/2013 1:52:38 AM] GPU0 (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series) restore intensity to 15 after idle returned: I (GPU 0 set new intensity to 15)
[16/12/2013 1:54:51 AM] [d] Coins.Refresh complete, 51 coin(s) present.
[16/12/2013 1:56:38 AM] The computer is now idle (4 min, 22 sec since last activity, 4 min requirement).
[16/12/2013 1:56:38 AM] Computer has been idle for 4 min, 22 sec, setting GPU intensities to 19...
[16/12/2013 1:56:38 AM] GPU0 (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series) intensity changed from 15 to 19 because the computer has been idle for 0 second
[16/12/2013 1:56:38 AM] GPU0 (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series) adjust intensity to 15 on idle returned: I (GPU 0 set new intensity to 19)
[16/12/2013 2:01:38 AM] Accepted shares have not changed for 3 minutes, longer than the threshold of 3 minutes. Attempting to restart...
[16/12/2013 2:01:38 AM] [d] Miner.Restart begin.
[16/12/2013 2:01:38 AM] Because the miner is set to a .BAT file, I will attempt to stop and then start the miner so the .BAT is reloaded...
[16/12/2013 2:01:38 AM] [d] Miner.PerformStopStartRestart called. (Profile=NetcodeDogePool;Miner=G:\Downloads\Dogecoin\cgminer-3.7.2-windows\NetcodeDodgePool.bat;HasFullAPIAccess=True;Initiator=Monitor;Reason=#NAME# was successfully restarted.)

[16/12/2013 2:01:42 AM] [d] Miner.StopMining - command window killed to ensure successful restart.
[16/12/2013 2:01:42 AM] CGMiner process closed outside of CGWatcher! Use the 'Ensure miner stays running' monitor option to have CGWatcher restart the miner when this happens.
[16/12/2013 2:01:45 AM] [d] Miner.IsProcessAlive(4928) returns False. [First try, test process is nothing. ex: Process with an Id of 4928 is not running.] (CPID0/CMPID=0/CBPID=2736)
[16/12/2013 2:01:45 AM] [d] Miner.StartMining (for restart) called. [16/12/2013 2:01:46 AM] [d] Miner.IsProcessAlive(5584) returns True. [First try, process is alive.] (CPID5584/CMPID=5584/CBPID=6084)
[16/12/2013 2:01:46 AM] [d] Waiting for CGMiner to initialize API. Process 5584 alive=True, minerid=5584, bat id=6084.
[16/12/2013 2:01:47 AM] No pools set in config file or arguments! If I need to restart the miner it will be stuck at prompt until you manually enter this information. Putting this into the config file or arguments is highly recommended to ensure continuous mining.
[16/12/2013 2:01:47 AM] [d] Watch for miner, expected process is 5584 (alive).
[16/12/2013 2:01:47 AM] [d] CGMiner process is running using ProcessID 5584, expecting port 4028.
[16/12/2013 2:01:48 AM] [d] CGMiner running but without API access... waiting to check again.
[16/12/2013 2:01:50 AM] [d] CGMiner running but without API access... waiting to check again.

Is there a doge calculator that gives you expected ltc/btc equivalent if you input your hash rate and current doge difficulty? Just trying to see if mining dogecoin is worth it over litecoin at the moment.

Your GPU needs CPU time too. You have to remember, even the scrypt mining still has backend work that needs to be done, moving stuff to and from memory and across the bus, fetching stuff from the network and sending stuff back to it. If you're pegging 100% CPU calculating primes or whatever, you're going to impact your GPU's hashrate while it stalls waiting for CPU time.

There's a reason why I'm only running 4 threads on mine.

I didn't have the same issue when I was running all 8 threads on minerd mining LTC at 100kH/s.

Also, the weird thing about the issue is that it only affects my 7970 hashrate (GPU 0) and does not affect my 7870 hashrate (GPU 1). D:

not that I know of, but check coinedup.com for exchange rates, which vary.

Ok going back to last two pages, it seems I can set backup pools? How can I do that in CGWatcher? Because according to my log, it just likes to crap out on me. Profit lost.

There is no doge calculator at the moment, your best bet would be to mine for a couple of hours and convert your earnings to LTC/BTC to see if it would be worth it.

Someone earlier in this thread posted an excellent guide which you can find here:

For the mathematically challenged:

USD Value of BTC * Current Exchange Rate for Whatever Coin You're Interested In * Number of Coins to Exchange = Total Cash Out Value in USD

So for example, at this very moment, if you have 100,000 Dogecoins, the value of 1 BTC is ~870 on MtGox. The last exchange rate for DOGE -> BTC was 0.00000035. Therefore, you're get roughly $30.45 if you cashed out to USD.

The current exchange rate for LTC is a bit lower, 100,000 Dogecoins would net you about $28.60

Thanks, I needed that

Ya I saw that. But it's only for CGMiner. Not CGWatcher? I need it set in CGWatcher because every so often I have to restart the computer.

It should be pretty similar. You just tell cg watcher where to find the config file, just like you tell it where to find your bat file.

FYI: doge.netcodepoolers...

CHANGE YOUR PORT NUMBER TO 4094 (if you were previously using 4093).

They said 4094 was added for load balancing? Well, 4093 has been DOWN for the last hour or two.

Giving me an invalid file error when I load it up in CGWatcher...

Screw this. Time to prep for formatting.

Some of these pools are srsly $#@*&

Take doge.pool.webxass.de.
They have 1/15 of Total Network Hashrate, so block finding expectancy is ~15 minutes, yet it took them 3 hours to find the block(14313).

Lets see the probability for this:

(1 - 1/15) ^ (3*60) = 38 / 10,000,000

Which is perfectly fine (hey it happens) but does it have to be when I am mining there.
My single R9 290 solo mining and finding a block is ~ 1/8,000 , but ofc that will never happen

Use the 'validate' option under cgwatcher settings to validate your conf file.. You might have some mismatched tags

So... anyone else concerned that ASICs would cause bitcoin to become centralized and thus destroy its whole purpose for existing?

If anyone is keeping track of exchange rates and whatnot, apparently GalaxyCoin "Looks" like it's on fire right now... but apparently it's not. It's dead. The dev has announced he is no longer supporting the coin as of yesterday, the wallet is broken, there are no peer nodes or pools, nearly every block being mined (if you can mine it) currently is orphaned. Stick a fork in it, she's dead.
