WoW such profit

Yeah... sold another 1,000,000 DOGE today and still holding onto a fair bit. At least it has more than paid for itself at this point so even if it goes to zero eventually I won't cry

Woke up this morning to see it stopped mining... WHY?! I had my config file set up too so there were two other backup pools! Webxass is down, and same with netcode.

Such sadness.

Same here :|

Netcodepool is completely down for me now, both site and server. Back to LTC for me!

I don't understand how some of you guys are having so much trouble with pools. Although the sites themselves are down often, my miners have not gone down at all. They just bounce around between luckyminers, netcodepool, and poolerino.

What's funny about dogecoin is that despite it being a "joke" currency, I like it far better than any of the other altcoins as basically the "penny" of the bitcoin world. It's a nice commodity coin.

Bought one 30GH/s ASIC miner. It should break even in a month. We'll see

I had 10GH/s and it wouldn't break even ever if I had bought it in November or later. I don't understand how you could possibly be profitable even with a 30GH/s miner unless you pay $0 for power.

only thing about doge, is that there are quite a few scam pools out.

I was robbed of millions of doge by doge.cryptopool.it.
I now use fast-pool.com who have a lightning fast site, reliable stratum server and i get payouts every couple of hours.

What are people's thoughts about the new KNCminer 3000 GH/s ones.

I was tempted to pre-order a couple, but I'm not sure the economics are quite good enough, and as I pay $0.22 per kWh, I need a good idea about the power consumption.

I'm not exactly sure what their power consumption rate is, but assuming the numbers are legit at current BTC exchange rates they'd pay for themselves in about 2 weeks at your kWh costs. But they're sold out, so you're out of luck.

If you don't have them in hand right now, you're out of luck. They're projected to be unprofitable by as early as February.

And so it begins.

The first "major" (*cough*) online retailer to start accepting virtual currency: Overstock.com

Interesting and it makes sense when you read some of the backstory to their CEO.

This is the segment that the idea of Bitcoin being used as a legitimate currency appeals; individuals frustrated with the current corruption, innuendo based and unsustainable status quo financial system.

I don't think it will take off, because if it starts to gain major traction concerned governments will just start a propaganda campaign against it and start throwing people in jail over it. But if it stays confined to a smaller subset of businesses, I can see it going well.
