why the recent rise in coins? Every lunch break I can't wait to check on it and when I'm at home I refresh it 30 times an hour. Luckily I'm going to take vacation tomorrow for a few weeks and trade all day. To the moon baby.

Which 7850 are you using? What settings are you using on the 7850?!

The highest I got out of my 7850 was 360kH/s which is higher than what one of my 7870s gets

Sapphire 7850 OCed Using Trixx Mining using GPUMiner
1200 gpu
1250 memory

GPUMiner settings
Thread Concurancy 12404
Worksize 256
Vectors 1
GPU Threads 1
Intensity 18 (20 driver crashes)

Basically the defaults for 7850 High besides the Intensity
Getting 405 khash/s I can OC the core higher and get a few more I've gotten it to hold 415 upping the GPU more its not game stable.

The PowerColor Myst 7870 LE
I have tried every setting and clock speed imaginable currently running ...
855 GPU
1500 Memory
GPUMiner settings
Thread Concurancy 8192
Worksize 256
Vectors 1
GPU Threads 2
Intensity 13 (20 driver crashes)
Getting 329 khash. Sometimes I can get it to stick at 370-380.

I've tried various settings using cgminer in command line to no avail.

I have some name coins I want to transfer from BTC guild to my name coin wallet. How do you get BTCguild to cash name coins? It only has an option for auto payout and it's not doing anything even though I set the auto payout to less than my balance.

~10% more hash than what you can get using more usual settings (assuming 405 is the true stable hashrate, ignoring spikes), at high voltage and clocks, with possible hardware errors. Hmm. Seems like a bad tradeoff. You can run a 270X and get more hash with less wattage.

Is this directed towards me?
What is a more usual setting? Those are the defaults from GUIMiner for a 7850 besides clock. VDDC is as 1.2 which I think it pretty normal for a 7850. I didn't buy the card to mine anyways, it just happens to be decent at it. GUI Miner shows 2945 accepted to 88 stale/invalid. I don't know if that's good or not.

I'm not concerned with the wattage usage really. The room went from cold to almost bearable, since adding the 7870 to the mix.

The 7870 is a mix of a 7870 and 7950 and because of this seems terrible at everything besides gaming, haha. I'm all ears to suggestions to upping its output.

- 855 GPU clock is slow for that card. Stock core is 925, boost clock is 975. It should easily run 925 or higher.
- Thread concurrency should be more like 15232
- Intensity should be between 16-18
- You may also want to add haders 1536 as well to see if that helps, as cgminer might not be detecting the right amount of shaders for the card

Try fixing those.

Thanks for the tips JBT. I got my XFX 7850 Core up to 390kH/s and counting... 1120/1350 @ 1.175v It would not go above 1100 on stock voltage.

Other settings are the ones you mentioned, only thing I changed there was increasing the thread concurrency.

Which is on par with my good 7870s. Who knew that such a budget card would be such an amazing miner.... especially without a BIOS flash... I got this thing for less than 90 bucks! ^_^

I still can't figure out how to budge my XFX 7870 above 350 :\

Sure, but why pay double $$$ for the same hashrate? So you can save 20W?

I've got 2 systems that I'm trying to reduce power consumption on, but don't want to mess their operation up, i.e., going into sleep mode and shutting down the card, etc.

I know I can turn off stuff I'm not using like sound or onboard SATA IF I wasn't using it. Anyone have any tips or guide for minimizing power consumption on the motherboard/CPU?

After that I'm going to look into flashing different firmware on my Gigabyte 7950's..... I know that should yield power savings and increased hashrate.

Anyone else having problems with BTC-e? When I go to withdraw my Bitcoins it says "You input the wrong amount for withdrawal!"

The 270 non X will do 470Kh/s. I use thread concurrency 12992, intensity 18 and run at 1100/1400 with power tune 20. Thats on a 150watt draw I believe, can the card use more than that with just one 6 pin? I'd imagine it uses 140-150w while pulling 470hash, that's pretty good efficiency and the card isn't being priced gouged due to mining.

NP.

Good god... anything having to do with dogecoin is completely useless. Been trying for 20 min to just transfer my doge out of coinedup..... useless site. When it CAN get a connection it just forward me to a different page.

I tried joining a Dogecoin pool earlier. It's such a PITA.

Set a few of these, this one produces around 310 at 1100 core, 1500 memory.
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe" --scrypt -u x. -p x -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 18 -g 1 -l 2 --thread-concurrency 15232 --shaders 1536

This gets me around 360 with same core and memory. Backing down to 700-800 I might get up to 380

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe" --scrypt -u x.x -p x -o stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.us:7777 --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 256 -v 1 -I 12 -g 2 -l 1 --thread-concurrency 8192

OK, so the 270 gets higher hashrates and uses roughly the same power as a 7850. They both use only one 6 pin connector. 270x uses two 6 pin connectors, like the 7870 and can draw 200W+ when OCed.

So the point that was brought up by blasting cap earlier that the 270x uses less power than either one of the two cards is still invalid. However, you will get slightly higher hashrates (probably around 50-100 more) with the 270 or 270x (compared to 7850/7870) but you will have to pay $50-70 more than what you could have bought the 7850/7870s for a couple of weeks ago.

Indeed. Cashing out is even a bigger PITA though...

Anyone know what to do with 0.4 LTC? Trade it for DOGE? Coined up is crap though and all my LTC is stuck on CoinedUp.

Is thread concurrency 16320 good enough for my 7950? I didn't input the shaders in the config file since it pulls around 550Kh/s max.

I don't have a 7950 so I can't speak from personal experience, but 16k seems low after reviewing this chart.

I don't think you need to input shaders unless you have them unlocked and flashed you card to 7970.

Ya I saw that chart, but it didn't seem to make a difference in hash...

You need to play around with your clock speeds if you want it to make a difference. If you have high overclocks on your card, then increasing thread concurrency can make a difference, otherwise it probably won't make much difference on its own.

Anyone having any luck with netcodepool? Their website says that the backend is up but my miners haven't connected to it (it's the primary pool) in a while.

I couldn't connect to their servers pretty much all day, regardless of which port I use.

Assuming Doge won't crash in the next month, if you grab an R290 today it will pay for itself in a few weeks. Crazy wow profits!

A few other scrypt alt coins are also excellent in profitability too!
