It was added to Cryptsy. Frankly, I don't see how it will survive at < 1 GH/s network hash rate and dropping. Everyone is just dumping CAT and that will lead to fewer people mining it which will eventually kill the coin.

Give it time, wasn't too long ago that Doge had less than 1 Gh/s..

I think this is the fastest coin to hit good profitability to mine ever upon release.

And there we go, it already spiked up to 2 GH/s, doubling since the last post.. what, a 2 hours ago?

Until people realize the low block reward, block rate, high difficulty, and high retarget rate means as of this point catcoin is all but dead. Unless the price spikes to litecoin-like levels by tomorrow, you're going to see people abandon the coin in drives once they see that their POOLS aren't generating any blocks for hours on end.

ill pm u later.
Thanks

if you have a pc with a hd7850 a hd7950 a hd 7970 or a r9 280 a r9 290 or a

hd 6970 or a hd 5870 it is afree start up to mine LTC 1 ltc is about 30 usd.

what is your video card? I mention LTC because if you have a pc with a card named above built it will mine at a profit in most of the USA and Canada at the present time. shoot me a pm I would help you setup. BTC is more costly and harder to profit at the current time. Mostly because ASICs were invented to replace GPUS.
In general setting up a winning BTC mine in your home right now is not easy to do. Setting up a profitable LTC mine is easy if you already have the correct video cards.
I have 3 pc's mining at 1700Kh and pulling 600 watts an hour. It is cold in NJ so the heat of the 3 pc's is a bonus. here is a LTC calc

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/calculator

1 hd7970 mining at 700kh right now will earn 7.4 coins in a month about 210 usd it will burn about 173 k watts of power and at my high NJ price of 17 cents a k watt that is 30 usd a month so since I have a pc with the hd7970 init I gain 180 a month.

plus free heat 173 kwatts a month is about 1200 BTU's an hour 24/7/31 IN DEC- MAR it pays me in free heat and cash. but I had the machine .

I just made the most interesting discovery with the AMD + Intel GPU if you dual screen. For me, I connect my BenQ monitor to the XFX 7950 for obvious reasons. However when mining, this slows things down significantly and I get display lag caused from mining. What's interesting is that I left my Sharp monitor connected to the Intel GPU and it seems that the Intel GPU is rendering that monitor so there is only a bit of lag, whereas my BenQ monitor has tons of lag. I'm watching Acer Innovation stream on Twitch right now and having the same stream open side by side, it is significantly smoother on my Sharp screen. At least it feels that way.

I tried it out for the last 3 hours or so. I'm pretty sure I'm going back to Dogecoin soon... Catcoin just seems so... Kitty. Ya it's good for trading, but I don't think I'm getting as much with Catcoin as I could with Dogecoin. However, now that the value of Catcoin is rising..

If only there was a way to predict how much I could mine with my 7950.. Just like how we can predict PPD with Folding@Home.

DOGE has 24-35 GH/s depending on time of day, and steady stream of coins.
EAC has 3-6 GH/s depending on time of day, and faster block rewards.
LTC is the ultimate in reliable scrypt income with WeMineLTC or other large pool. Incomparably steadier and more reliable rewards.

Newbs:
If you want to "set it and forget it" LTC with WeMineLTC is the way to go. The others have too much variability in price, even if they are generally more profitable than LTC *if* you can accept the volatility and trading risk.

CAT is probably going to triple in difficulty sometime tomorrow, which will either cause the price to spike and make it make sense to mine again or will kill it off for good. My bet is it kills CAT for good.

Gonna disagree, I have a large bet on CAT doing well in the future.

Scrypt Bitcoins with lolcatz & Hello Kitty factor?!

Do something funky? Here have a CAT...

You did WHAT?! Here have a puss...

Hope you're right, but it's so slow mining CATs. Estimated jump in difficulty from 64 -> over 300!? Anyway I'm mining CATs for the next 10 hours or so until Mooncoin is released

I want to trade BTC for DOGE but my BTC is tied up at slush's pool (can't change payout address), sent them a support ticket, no reply for over a week. Sad doge.

So I am planning on a building a machine with 3 R9 290s? What PSU should I use? I have a old school Enermax Galaxy 1250W or Cooler master V1000?

Also think a MSI Z77 Mpower can handle 3 R9 GPUs?

If you have 3x PCI-e 16x slots, your motherboard is fine. Those cards will run toasty and will probably throttle unless you set your fans to jet turbine mode. It's not like gaming - mining pushes the cards harder and hotter.

You'll need the 1250W PSU, as each card can draw up to 300W (TDP) so a 1000W would be cutting it close.

Depends on the going rate. *Always* do the math and trade whatever is most profitable.
I just did some quick math and while BTC still wins, it's almost even now.
I wonder whether to try to sell for what's current exchange rate, or set it a little bit higher and hope. Currently DOGE/BTC seems to be going for 0,00000056 or so. Graphs clearly show decreasing trend over time, so I am not sure.

Yep was thinking of going with the Enermax as well. Though it's a bronze rated PSU it's pretty hardy and has taken a lot of punishment with my mining hardware.

I have another question.

I live in a Condo and eventually I'll have 3 mining rigs. One with 3 R9 290s 1 with 2 7970s and one with 1 R9 290.

So to even out the electrical load I was going to have one machine per fuse. So machine 1 will on the fuse for bedroom one and machine 2 will be on living room fuse and machine 3 will on bedroom 2 .

Would that be acceptable? I would imagine my fuse would trip before any issue occurs correct?

Atm I am running two machines with 2 R9 290s and the other with a single R9 290 on different fuses

As long as you are SURE they are on different 20A+ breakers. I *thought* I had two machines on different breakers but they actually weren't. So when I turned on my laser printer, the momentary power draw at startup tripped the breaker.

Now I have all my rigs on separate breakers. 400A+ available, mostly 20A and 30A breakers

How does a noob find that out. All I have is a Panel in my condo with the different Fuse switches. Guessing they'd some mark on them tell me what fuse rating they are.

Darn forgot about the printer. Hmm need to check if it's going to trip the fuse.

The other day I turned on my iron to iron my clothes and tripped the surge protector not the fuse. From then I stop mining while ironing my clothes.
