A. You don't pay for electricity and B. You have two very powerful Radeons.. not putting it to mine to pay for itself is silly. If that answers your questions.
You have reassured my thinking - Thanks.

I am just seeing it as a mining rig, so to me, hash/$ matters more.
I've about $3000 invested in my Rig - What about this $2400 rig for Mining:http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBu...=Combo.1533483

Who is buying up the 290 and 290X's - Who's building them and charging over $100 above MSRP - NewEgg?

Terribly ovepriced and terrible bang for the buck. If you're gonna pay $649 per card, you might as well get the non-reference version (sapphire tri-x). 290 is a much better bang for the buck option imo. Difference is only ~100k per card, or even less. Also, for only 3 cards, 1500W is overkill. You can save another $100+ by getting a 1300W PSU which will more more than enough.

edit: Doge going to the moon, it's time to jump on the bandwagon once again.... Joined fastpool.... What is everyone else using?

So I need help.

I have outbound 13K Doge transaction stuck in my wallet that never got confirmed. How do I go about retrieving it? As per the Dogechain info, it is still supposed to be my in my wallet.

I have re synced a countless times without any luck.

There was some talk of retrieving using private key etc. I don't know what that means but it seems to work.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do please?

Card : Reference XFX 290, Elpida memory
Core: stock 947
Memory: stock 1250
Core voltage: -62
Power tune: -6 - 0
Fan speed: 70%
Intensity: 19-20
-w (?): 256-512
Thread-concurrency: 28657
Work Unit: 800 atm (much variance, depends on (pool) luck I believe)
Hash rate: 820-840 kHash/s

I prefer -i 19, 820khs due to lower reject rate.

One thing I've noticed is after cgminer crashes and/or the display driver restarts due to cgminer, I have to reboot the PC. Otherwise I get really weird hash rates, if any. That actually may be why you got those almost 0 hashes?

Yeah I think you're right, I've started rebooting after driver crashes and it helps. I'm hashing now around 840kh @ 900/1400. I think 1500 memory was too high and was making mining crash instantly. Is there a way to increase mem voltage... My option is greyed out in AB, perhaps it's locked on my card?

Another thing I noticed, inserting the second 7970 under the 290x makes the load temp on the 290x jump 15-20C to the 90s, even if the 7970 is just sitting there idle.

Fast pool is extremely unstable, is there a stable doge coin pool that's still around?

Good point on the Rejects. I'm getting a few (2-3%?) at my highest settings. I have to keep an eye on that. No hardware errors anyway.

Can you fill out that template with your settings? We can compare if there are other optimizations possible.

There are huge memory holes. My 290x has them around 1500. Go 1 MHz over and it drops the hashrate dramatically. As you go lower near 1250 you should be at 1250. At 1625 (AB Max) it was on the rise again but I believe it had to go to or near to 1750 to hit the optimum values again.

I wonder why the 7970 idle alongside it has such a big effect. How far apart are they? Is the 7970 blocking the airflow? I'm curious about this one if it's similar with my crossfire. I'm getting risers this week so I'll probably put a 4 card configuration with two outside and I'm thinking I'll put one custom card with one reference inside the box, and 1 of each outside of it hanging somehow.

Dogecoin is flirting with 90. I wonder if it'll make it higher than 100. On cryptsy there's a 100 BTC wall at 100.

I'd take anything (maybe) a little bigger yet probably not the single largest pool if there is a gap.

DogeHouse 25.75351%
Fast-Pool 16.81389%
HashFaster 9.39538%
Such Coins 11.17060%
Nut2Pools 4.54253%
Poolerino 2.81231%

I've used 2 of them and one had "issues" to say the least but at this point you can try read up a little more. Since I set my auto pay low I haven't had any issues. I "lost" about 5-10k at one point (they said they were hacked etc. etc.), but AFAIK it's been fine since

Read the stilt's thread on litecointalk. These memory holes are where the memory switches to a different timing profile. 1500mhz is often the sweet spot.

What's the secret to stable mining on fast-pool?

Read their banner and keep your addresses updated. Port 3333 was good for me since December but it seems they moved servers and implemented different DDoS protection which necessitated a break and move to ports 8888 and 9999. I have both set up with one as failover and so far so good.

Yeah, I guess I gotta get the failover setup for fast pool, had it setup for LTC. I was using 8888 and now I am using 3333. I keep getting disconnected every couple of minutes.

Hey I'm a noob when it comes to mining, but I'd like to get started. Can you guys recommend a coin to mine and what software?

I've got the MSI lightening 7970 ghz in the sig.

Thanks.

Using same settings in guiminer allows (so far) stable hashing @810 kh. Right now I'm at 900/1400. Does anyone what 'aux voltage' sets in afterburner? Memory voltage slider is greyed out.

btw, is 8GB system RAM enough? Is getting another 8GB going to help?

No V control on the 290s, and no 8GB more of memory will not increase hashtate, you only need more memory when running 4 plus GPUs per rig.

Try 1250MHz mems it will lower the heat, try 860/1250.

IF that wall is chipped away and is downed you can bet there will be a massive spike onwards.

Also, can you guys with R290/X post GPUZ shot of power draw while you are mining? Would be good to know where its at to work out efficiency.

Using a Kill A Watt I see 625W at the wallplate for a pair of 290s@947/1250, ~830kH/s each. Both are undervolted by 40mV.

Minus 10% for PSU efficiency, ~562W.. minus ~80W for the rest of the system, ~482W for 2x R290 mining, is very very good Hash/W.

From what I've seen, I have a hunch R290s consume nearly 50W more when mining at high temps. Looks like 4x R290 under water/ghetto loop is the way to go for a mining rig.

Oops wrong person quoted.

Use cgminer 2.7.3 is the last one that supports gpu mining i think? I recomend mining digitalcoin with only one GPU. The current difficulty for DGC would get you 15plus a day if you can squeeze 600-750Kh/s out of your 7970.

cg miner 3.7.2

2.65 kh/w?

I did 1000 kh/s with my two 7950s at 800/1500 with huge undervolts (stock was 1.25/1.188) using 333w total.

That gave me basically 3 kh/w, I thought Hawaii was more efficient?

Reguardless unless your electricity cost is higher you're earning almost basically 70% more coins per day meaning more money

Balla's cards are always super efficient, with massive undervolts or overclocks... therefore every other card must be as good!
