Can't get Vertminer to work with CGwatcher. Can't create fallback. Nothing

Edit: Ok redownloaded modded CGminer. Works with CGwatcher now.

Facing a problem here. CGWatcher is reporting over 500Mh/s mining Vertcoin while generating 0 share acceptance from the pool. None of my mining settings has changed as I can still mine DOGE and whatever. Everything is getting rejected.

Ok trying to mine Vertcoins and something went horribly wrong. Now I can't mine anything. Redownloading CGMiner.exe doesn't fix the problem. It's reporting 500 MH/s and all my shares get rejected. Heck it pretends to mine but the pools aren't reporting any hash rate over at their end. What happened?!

You must set it to scrypt and not phatk, which is what cgminer defaults to.

I have issues with my 7850 even when mining on scrypt. Hashrates are in the dumps and I'm getting hardware errors everywhere. Do I really need 8GB of RAM or something?

Already did. Still doesn't work. The modded CGminer and vertminer is to blame. Spent the last hour trying to fix it but no go. Finally managed to fix it by reverting to CGminer 3.7.2 and now I'm happily mining FOX while I go to sleep for the rest of the night.

If someone can tell me how they got Vertcoin mining it'd be great. It didn't work for me. Also, there's a new miner program called SGminer. It's basically CGMiner but updated and less bugs.

Odd, I had the same issue as you and then I got it to go scrypt. But now my card just spews out hardware errors. Like you, I'm going back to plain ol' scrypt mining, but with kittehs instead of foxes.

I'm trying to dig a little foxhole with foxcoin. Solo mining has been pretty successful, I don't know how long that will last if it gains popularity. I've found a few blocks within minutes and then go up to 4 hrs without one.

---

The sheer amount of new coins is daunting. It seems like few will even make it to the likes of cryptsy and therefore remain a niche coin or be doomed. Just browsing the altcoins there are a ton of coins that are just popping up pretty much daily.

I've got a million Karma in the bank. It's like DOGE and Kitteh. Now I shall hold my Karma.

Lots of countries around the world have huge issues with money or lack of it. The fact is without Dogecoins and the community behind it, this particular example of altruism isn't possible. Or many other great causes. This is what makes this coin unique, not fancy Gravity Well or PoS algorithms, it's simply the awesome community and the shibe factor. I hope when they do show these events of Sochi globally, the athletes in question will thank our favourite Shibe, broadcasted around the world.

Well, my goal is to reach 1 mil doge before I venture onto the next coin. At this point, I am looking at foxcoin since I already have everything setup for it and I have a small spark of hope for it.

I don't know if doge will really bounce back past its ephemeral peak when the news of this reaches the majority of the concerned parties. If everyone is in purely for profit, the hoardability of this coin is going to suffer.

Incidentally, that's good news for whatever coin is next in line.

Vertcoin is getting pumped as lot of people are buying into the ASIC resistant hype, plus it's supposedly hitting Cryptsy soon.

I jumped on the mining train last night, not going to bother buying any, though. One thing it has going for it is unlike Doge the coin won't be hit by multipools, or at least until someone makes an scrypt miner that auto changes N on the fly. This will minimize the amount of dumping.

Didn't do anything special. Just downloaded the modded cgminer from the bitcointalk thread, changed the TC to 27000 (for my 290s) and 19712 (for my 7950s), REDUCED INTENSITY to 17 and I am good to go. Getting 400kh/s on my 290s and 260kh/s on my 7950s. This is with clocks at 925/1250 for 290s and 950/1250 for the 7950s.

Apparently reducing intensity helps, and doesn't hurt the hash rate too badly. I have 8gbs of ram in both machines.

Difficulty has doubled since yesterday.

But its usability as currency goes up. Look at the USD for an example of how printing money isn't necessarily a bad thing (at least, for now).

I don't disagree but what made the value skyrocket over those few days were undeniably those trying to jump on the train as an investment hoping that the finite supply would eventually propel its value up towards litecoin/bitcoin numbers. Those folks care little about the actual long term viability of the coin as a currency and they just want to make a quick buck. With that prospect gone, they're likely to just dump their reserves and move onto the next potential money making one.

People are selling and buying dogecoins in large quantities.

The going price is anywhere from $1.5 per 1k to $2.0 per 1k.

Anyone else getting a huge spike in rejected shares on fast-pool?

My 7970 went from ~2% to nearly 10% rejected shares without me changing anything....

My 7950 also went from ~5% (I20) to 10-15% (I19)...

Wtf is going on here...
