how does the dogecoin volume at BTER compare to cryptsy?

much less but I haven't been on crypsy for a while. Something seems a bit shady on how they hold up doge coins deposits when the price is high and then the deposit goes through when the price is low. I prefer vircurex or bter

Ok, it is working now.
I was using vertcoin modified cgminer.
Tried unmodified cgminer and it works. Strange...
I'm mining vertcoin with my normal altcoin hash rate - double of what vertcoin moded cgminer was pulling.

Check the pool and make sure they are registering as legit.. My guess is that you are getting nothing.

Something is odd with the pool... almost as if it's not pointing to the right coin stratum or something, but everything on my end is showing that it's most definitely VertCoin.

I'll have to look into it when I get home. This very weird.

What services have you guys used to "cash out" your BTC? I'd like to cash out some of my BTC to pay off one of my video cards that I purchased, but I haven't actually gone through this part just yet... Any recommendations?

So I just got my XFX 7870 DD RMA replacement card... Seems like it is a 7870 Tahiti LE. Has a much different HSF than my 7870, it's shorter, and most importantly - it uses 6+8pin power connectors. Ran GPU-z, shows up as a Tahiti with 1536 shaders and Elpida VRAM.

I want to set this beast up for mining but I have no clue which settings to use...

Anyone have experience scrypt mining on a 7870 Tahiti?

It appears to be something to do with the stratum server itself. Though I'm honestly not sure why it was even accepting blocks work in that case anyway. I will look into it when I get home as there appears to be updated stratum software out there.

I suggest not mining on it as shares will probably never get submitted upstream.

You can get about 430k/hs out of it on dogecoin.

I googled some scrypt configs for it, but the highest I was able to get was 360kH/s which is really disappointing. What settings are you using on yours?

You're also currently DDoSing the pool and getting zero shares for your effort. Anytime you mine Vertcoin you will get approximately 40% of your hash rates as normal scrypt due to the algorithm. You can only mine Vertcoin with Vertcoin modified CGminer or Vertminer, currently.

I figured it out - it was the stratum server itself.

That also oddly leads me to the question of HOW exactly the MPOS pools have been running for the last ~month, since it appears that the stratum server just got updated only 4 days ago... and it's not even in the master branch yet to boot.

Either way, vert.poolminewith.us SHOULD be properly using/requiring the modified miners now, should anyone care to throw hashes at that pool. Given the relative lack of interest overall, I'm guessing pretty much everybody will stay where they're already at anyway. But thank you to anyone that does head this way, it's a pet project and at least it will make me feel like this server that's been sitting "mostly" idle for the better part of the last year is actually doing something useful now.

FWIW You won't want to use your PC for other stuff with this config. It bogs down the UI.

I have no idea about the long term prospects. I'm shocked it's as popular as it is. I'll give it a bit of time and sit on it and just see but it seems like many of these coins peak early on or else sit dormant and suddenly peak randomly and crash. It's such a guessing game.

I had just been sitting tight on dogecoin slow and steady off and on but hopped off it lately to try the newer coins for a bit and see if any take off. There are a ton of announcements so it's like a roll of the dice in the end. I actually have long term hope for dogecoin but I'm not sure that the 5 billion/year permanent coin will be positive. It's hard to say but it certainly has a strong and dedicated following so it's high on the list for potential.

Karma is like DOGE and pre-relaunched Kitteh in that early on, you get a whole lot of coins. Must be something about "easy money" that makes them appealing to mine.

As of now (current rate), the ~2 days? spent on it have been very very profitable so it was very valuable to mine. I'm not sure if I dare hold or if I should drop it and consider that luck of the draw before it crashes. It's the quickest I've gotten (equivalent to) BTC, although it is reminiscent of the doge launch which I got into a bit after the launch.

Where is kitteh trading? Did it go higher than launch with the later increases? Found it, it just hit cryptsy and is dropping. No more history than ~ 2 days.

I've got a 7870 Tahiti as well. I can get it to 390 and occasionally up to 420

Me? No... it wasn't on my radar, but looking at it now it doesn't appear like there's any stratum support for it yet either.
