Which version of the ADL SDK and APP SDK did you use to compile?

ADL_SDK 6.0 here:

HTML:
http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/graphics-development/display-library-adl-sdk/

Since I'm using the latest beta driver from AMD, the latest AMD SDK (2.9) goes with:

HTML:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-linux-beta-driver.aspx

HTML:
http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/

If you have to use an older driver, there is an SDK compat chart that you can check out.

HTML:
http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/system-requirements-driver-compatibility/

I still have to have that old ATI HD5700, everything seems to point towards the older driver with SDK 2.5, but can't find it anywhere. the driver seees the card but opencl doesnt (clinfo returns only the CPU).

cheers.

Great stuff.

Ah. I see you've managed to get the pool high up in the thread. Prepare for some punishment when the coin launches, lol.

Yup. I PM'd the coin's "dev" (or at least the thread's OP) last night as well informing them I would be setting up a pool for pre-registrations and posting an announcement in the thread as soon as it was up. Assuming it's legit and assuming the OP updates, looks like I'll be #2 on in the OP's pool list.

I expect bad things to happen.

So hard to keep track of new altcoins.. what is the pro of AKC, in your opinion?

I've been using the multipool called Wafflecoin (like middlecoin), and their miner information page has been displaying various messages about how cryptsy is having trouble, and that is delaying the payouts by wafflecoin. It says currently:

Note: Cryptsy deposits are quite delayed (large unexcahnged balance). We have an open support ticket to try to deal with it, sorry

So that's for an entire pool, not just a single person, where cryptsy is causing affects. Despite that, wafflecoin reports that they have paid me my daily payout, so I'm happy, but I still show a rather large balance of unconverted coins despite already being paid.

Ok, I'm recompiling on a VM using the EXACT same OS that my target machine is running on. I found the drivers my target machine is using so I am using that chart you linked to download the correct SDK. Fingers crossed this will work!

That people are so pissed off about the horrible launch that was MaxCoin, missing the boat, etc.

Basically it's just another altcoin, scrypt-based, nothing interesting about it, except it's promoting everything that wasn't about MaxCoin - "fair".

It worked! I'll need to test with some of my other rigs but it looks like I was downloading the wrong SDK for my driver version. That page you linked that shows which SDK goes with which driver version did it. I'm ready for the next keccak coin now!

I'd be very wary of Bter.com I had zero problems with them for a 1 month and now a bunch of btc withdrawals are missing. I'd say do search for bter missing coins on google or bitcointalk. It's one thing to have them missing it's another to have no support or chance to get them back.

Too early to tell, but looks like there is a speculative run-up already for DOGE before the block reward halving. It is 250+ satoshis now. Or should that be SHIBEtoshis?

So what's the interest in jumping in on all these other new coins? I'm guessing everyone grabs as many as possible out of the gate in the hopes that they are worth a few fractions of a cent each, dumping them for BTC or Litecoin, and then going to the next launch. Is that right? Therefore none of these coins are really expected to be around for more than a few months.

Coin comes out, difficulty is astronomically low, easy to mine even solo meaning you can get the entire block reward all to yourself very quickly. More coins faster.

Nobody knows what the coin is worth initially, so early trades can be made by speculators for big money before it hits an exchange... or if it does hit an exchange first speculators still don't know what the long term value of the coin is so generally it's overpaid for until time settles the price down.

Basically, "early adopter bonuses" mean you can get a ton of coins and sell them for far more money then they're worth if you get in early enough. Which is why there's a new coin coming out every 10 seconds now.

what's the next crypto to mine guys? i've been doing doge... for oh... 2 days only... have like 20k dogecoins... lol. I was thinking of investing in more gpus... but seeing the prices on radeon r9 cards... it's ridiculous. The 270(x) a week prior were only 190-230... now they're 230-300. WTF.

Doge is headed for the moon... Unlike LTC :sneaky:

It's been a sad and rough couple of weeks for LTC...

I don't get it either... I must be missing out on something... Because I have been LTC mining for the last couple of months and recently switched over to doge... It would take months to break even mining doge at current video card prices. Even 270X's are going for around $250+ now which is crazy.

Crazy isn't it. I guess it's all about the community. I'd never have guessed this 8 weeks ago.

I hedged by bets in my last pump and dump with TOP coin, and unloaded about 25% of my stash for DOGE rather than BTC. That has turned out to be a surprisingly good move.

I've actually signed up for your pool to contribute, but I'm more than mildly curious how you solo mine these guys.

Just activate the wallet and edit the conf file to enable the RCP server.

Then just point your miner at the wallet RPC server. The coins will just appear in the wallet when successfully mined. No useful statistics are available for unsuccessful shares.

Very nice! Which combo did the trick for you?
