Solomined 280k in the time it took for SunnyD to put his broken pool up. Spent an hour scratching my ass on that pool, before giving up. Would have got a lot more if it hadn't taken me 7 minutes to realise I hadn't opened a port on the firewall between my mining subnet and the PC with the wallet on it.

Unloaded about half of my coins privately for 0.1 BTC. Will probably aim to get rid of the rest tomorrow or over the weekend.

Out of curiosity, what did you have to do? My Win7 machine with my wallets is on the same subnet as my Linux mining machines, and I opened the port inbound/outbound both tcp/utp and was still unable to solo mine. I basically had 15+mH/s doing nothing for 30 minutes while I struggled to figure out why.

Was your .conf file named correctly? That was my mistake - had it called antikeizercoin.conf which of course didn't work... so since it didn't have a list of IPs to allow it didn't respond to any of my mining rigs...

Nope.. antikeisercoin.conf, contained the following:

rpcuser=myusername
rpcpassword=mypass
rpcallowip=linxminer1IP
rpcallowip=linuxminer2IP
rpcallowip=linuxminer3IP
addnode=69.85.86.195
addnode=107.170.47.131
addnode=5.47.22.68
addnode=128.199.246.87
rpcport=38819
daemon=1

The wallet was set to accept 38819 and had the same usernameass in the wallet as well as the worker config in cgminer.conf. Firewall disabled and ports allowed.. nada.

Just mined an hour of stablehash and have 0 unconfirmed AKC and 0 confirmed AKC.

How convenient. I'm hoping I can hop onto Pandacoins with no problems.

I wonder if we'll see another boost then, or if it's already been priced in?

Hard to predict that. The BTC value did nearly double in the last couple of days. But the real effects are yet to set it after the block change (imo).

What settings are you using?

--intensity 18 --worksize 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 19712 --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 450-950 --gpu-memclock 1250 --temp-target 75 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 46-90 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-powertune 20

This is for a 7950.

A warming about Vertminer posted at the pandacoin BTC thread:

"Just a friendly warning: The vertminer permanently fucked up my sapphire 280x, several other miners have reported having their cards damaged from using the vertminer. Mine this coin at your own risk"

You should also put:
server=1
listen=1

in the conf.

When configuring your cgminers, don't use the stratum format, instead, specify the pools as:

url: http://mywallet.ip.address:38819
user: myusername
pass: mypass

What kind of damage? Mine don't run any hotter than scrypt and I've had no issues across half a dozen 290s and a 280X.

Crypto can be brutal to cards without proper cooling and/or automatic thermal throttling for when your cooling fails. I wouldn't be surprised if they were running > 90C 24/7 and burned it out finally.

I'm giving up on this crap coin. By all rights everything should be running and the pool should have been swimming in blocks with 10% of the net hashrate. Absolutely no reason for what happened earlier.

I just spent the last two hours double checking configs, rebuilding wallets, making sure ports were open, etc. It's almost as if it were a cruel joke being played.

I have better things to do with my time.

I'm trying to go by which pools are not scammers. There's so many in that list I don't know which ones to pick lol.
United Miners has 80% of FOX network hashrate and they don't seem to care. I personally wouldn't join them for that reason alone.

Killing GPU kind of damage. A lot of GPUs are dying from mining VTC. Since heat was more or less the same for the brief time I spent mining VTC, I'm guessing it has to do with overloading the GPU?

Everyone else got their pool to work. Maybe you just overlooked something? Either way, it's ok. Set it up for Pandacoin now! :awe:

I suggest you lower your intensity first. I remember reading that you have to use like I14 instead.

There's not enough time to get enough hashrate for the pool to matter. Have you seen the current pool list for Pandacoin?

I can hypothetically set it up I guess. Still, I don't like the coin one bit.

For what it's worth, here's my modified CGMiner for Pandacoin. Hopefully it goes well.

Code:
"scrypt" : true,
"failover-only" : true,
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"intensity" : "14",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "19713",
"kernel": "zuikkis"

Well it's up to you haha. I think I'll join Poolerino or Pickaxe.

BTC just dropped below $550 on BTC-E. Is that the only place to buy some? I forgot the other sites..

I thought poolerino was a scam pool?
I don't recall Poolerino being a scam. They did get hacked though when DOGE as gaining popularity. But I'm going to give them a try and hope for the best.
