According to my panda pool, I'm making $6 million USD/day...I'm RICH!!!

Seriously though, I see Cryptorush trading for PANDA but it's at 0.00000048 so my PANDAs aren't worth much.

I took a look at the anti-keiser source code, because I noticed that the coin diff was retargeting ridiculously slowly.

Found a sneaky bit in the difficulty adjust code, that makes the difficulty adjust interval super long for the first few thousand blocks. Basically, a stealth instamine.

Very interesting. I wonder if there was more to it, it seems like most pools were having issues, yet tons of blocks were continuously being found somewhere. I wonder if the dev had something to basically have an instamine feature which he benefited from. The fact someone had been mining the day before BEFORE he publicly released the source also was suspicious since most pools hadn't even received the source code.

I'm not interested in AKC. As much as the MaxCoin launch sucked, mining MAX is where it's at right now. It's 2-3x the daily profit of any other coin right now, and has held that way for a few days now. Price keeps going up, but difficulty keeps chasing it, thus helping support the price.

You could mine MAX, sell half of it, and buy some other coin you would have liked to mine instead. It's a no brainer right now. I haven't seen a coin maintain steady profitably like this for so long (probably because multipools aren't killing it).

P.S. I also like that my GPUs "work as intended" on keccak. No stupid core/mem tweaks that make 7870s hash worse than 7850s on scrypt, or some models 7950s barely able to do 600 kH/s while others can do 650 kH/s. It's brute force of the GPU so you aren't going to have performance depend on whether your GPU board has Elpida or Hynix memory.

^This.

Only wish I hadn't sold about 100 MAX at less than .002... ugh.

I think the main problem was because retarget was so slow, and hash increase so fast, most of the time the block solution rate was about 0.5-1 block per second.

At that sort of block rate, you could get absurd levels of orphans, rejects and soft forks. Heck, I was getting nearly 75% orphan blocks during my solo phase, and that was before the block rate went totally mental.

The launch debcale was apparently due to the dev accidentally pushing the source to github. He then deleted it a couple of minutes later, hoping no one would notice. It appears that poolmining.de had an alert on github, and pulled it during those few seconds it was up.

Oh and I didn't see anyone else mention it, but BTC prices jumped $100 overnight and are pretty much back to the new normal around $700.

No complaints there on my end :awe:

Yup. Bitcoin news is looking better.

Bitstamp, say that they are in final testing/audit before restarting withdrawrals, and Gox say that their fix is nearly in.

Why do people want MAX? Aside from the pump and dump reason. I mined it for a bit then sold them because I thought it was going to fail. Yet MAX is better than AKC? It's crazy.

Cult of personality around a talking head, plus lots of greed to extract money from it's members.

MAX is GREAT to mine... if all you have is Nvidia cards.

It's been great to mine with all AMD cards as well... only wish I had started at launch, because then I'd be looking at 8+ BTC instead of ~1.2 BTC net gains.

I get 400Mh/s from my 290 450Mh/s from my 290x and 350Mh/s from my 7970 mining Max

Cards run super cool and my xfire system only take 550W from the wall as opposed to 750W when mining VTC or regular scrypt.

I am going to mine as long as I make a profit. Hell I might still mine it if the price continues to go up.

I too like a lot of folks sold it thinking it wasn't going to do anything and lo and behold it shoots up. Made a decent coin since launch.

Aside from the launch issues, attacks it has been a decent coin to mine.

Sapphire's 290 Tri-x is a good option.

You can't find them in stock for <$500 in the United States, or even backorder them. The distributor I used to place a backorder in January canceled my backorder saying Sapphire was no longer allowing backorders.
