Reject rate is low - at 2% or so and no HW errors. I just realized I'm mining on the US West stratum and I'm in Toronto so I'm going to change over to the US East stratum and see if that makes a difference.

Just to double check I would mine at Dwarfpool. It doesn't require registration and is not a P2P pool so you can mine directly to your exchange addy.

It's also very transparent and its PPS based so every share counts

My reject rate is under 2% I mine with 4 290s 2 290x and 1 7970. I avg about 2300Mh/s and I started mining at dwarf around 6 pm today and have already mined 9Max. Way better than any pool I have tried before. Beating myself for not doing this sooner since I was under the impression it was a P2P pool. I just hate installing wallets for most coins plus at the time of launch the windows wallet had issues.

I would if I could get this Max wallet to update in Windows 8.1. Whenever I add the conf file with the updated nodes to the roaming folder - the wallet runs for a few minutes and then crashes. Apparently a known issue in Windows 8.1. I tried deleting the conf file and adding the updated nodes through the console but that didn't work either.

If I had a proper wallet/address I would try that pool For now I have to play it unsafe and manually pay out to bter or some sort of exchange.

I will say this for Max - I love how mining it doesn't isn't so demanding on the GPU - on my Tri-X it's no problem but on my reference card running it at high temps / high fan RPM's all the time was sort of making me nervous

Just mine using your Bter addy. It works just make sure you set your pwd to "1" and not "X" Dunno why but x didn't work for me.

Bitshares snapshot has been announced for 2/28, grab up Protoshares while you can. For those that have not heard of it, BitShares is a decentralized exchange/options market with shares issued to those who hold protoshares or have donated angelshares. Angelshares will give donators 3x their donation based on the feb 28 snapshot.

This is finally something besides just another coin...

Again, thanks for the heads-up, I bought at slightly under .018, now 4 hours later it's up over .022. 20% gain in a few hours, not bad... as the Bitshares news propagates, it ought to gain significantly more IMO. The BitShares idea is full of promise. Promise does not necessarily equal value, but I'm willing to put a small chunk into it because I think chances are good that it will pay off.

Middlecoin has done a face plant.

Total fail now. Hope the operator gets it fixed, I liked the minimalist approach, but overnight it went to being worse than straight LTC mining.

Yeah, I've switched to CleverMining.com and while it's fluctuated a fair bit the profitability is still better than straight LTC mining (150% as of now). I really like their graphs and trends -- much more informative than Middlecoin. The pool hash rate has gone up almost 10x since I started there so clearly word is getting out.

Same with wafflepool - up almost 10x because of Middlecoin suckage.

Exactly, calling Panda a scamcoin is kind of funny considering the rest could be equally considered scamcoins anyway.

So, I shouldn't call the guy calling himself a nigerian prince and asking for my credit card a scammer because there are a bunch of other ones out there who do the same thing?

And yea, 99% of the altcoins are obvious scams

All the coins are scams if you want to think of it that way. All of these coins having nothing really backing them.

It is all speculation and giving something a monetary value.

Cute, except lack of backing isn't what makes a coin a scam.

Just in case anyone is interested...

KlondikeCoin (KDC) devs have announced that they will be forking the coin to artificially reduce the block reward early. This is supposed to happen within the next day or two supposedly. Why? Because the speculators have pressured the devs because they're sick of holding onto bags of coins at a low price and want a quick profit.

While the KDC pool is the first one I opened, I'm happy to say it's STILL open (and still rather profitable - I mined 3 blocks myself since 3am), you're all welcome to pitch some hashrate and collect some coins before this fork happens.

Or you could risk your money and speculate on the market if you're into that sort of thing - but that's not my recommendation since they're damn easy to mine.

Either way, be very careful no matter what you do.

It's been warm here in Texas lately. Haven't had to turn on the AC yet, but those days can't be too far off. So as long as it stays profitable I'll continue to mine, but if it gets too much warmer it may actually be cost effective for me to convert everything to water cooling and run them in the garage... where the low temperature delta of watercooling will mean even a 95F garage won't be a big deal.

I don't know how you people are reporting max rejects in the single digits. I'm on my second pool and I'm still getting 7%-13% rejects across 3 machines with 4 GPUs. I did have a single GPU that ran last night with 3% rejects, but that's not the norm.

Pools used: max-coin.net and maxcoinpool

Trying dwarfpool next, or maybe hashfaster...

I get 4-5% on Hashfaster. Across 4x 290 and 1x 280X that are running keccak.

Lower your intensity.

I'm getting "job not found" rejects, not hardware errors. It seems to be worse on slower GPU's.

That's a classic sign of worker difficulty being too high for the GPUs you are using, and so not completing a job in time. You should check to see if the pool allows you to manually set the difficulty for that worker to something lower. Technically using vardiff should auto-adjust, but this may not be optimal.

So, with CUDAminer a 780Ti actually outperforms the R9 290X.
... and now the 750 Ti came out as the first maxwell part and its performance is ridiculous! It gets 250 kh/s on stock at 60 watts and 160$/card.
I am very interested in seeing the higher end maxwell cards

I could see the MSRP on those cards getting jacked up in the near future as more people find out about this...
