Does anyone here own Asus R9 290 DC2OC? I bought it yesterday and am close to thinking it's faulty. For one, temperature under load (with or without opened case) jumps up to 94°C with FurMark, and for two, I can't get it to mine no matter what I do.
No matter what other settings I choose, any intensity over 11 in cgminer makes it produce ridiculous amounts of HW errors, and also, any thread concurrency over 8192 make cgminer produce some error. And even if I disregard the HW errors, highest hashrate I've seen is 580kh/s.

Any ideas?

I have the Asus R9 290 DCUII as well. Mine was doing the same thing at first. Then I realized the Asus OC tool was making the thing run at 1250 vddc. I removed that and load temp dropped down to 79C instead of 94C. Vddc is in the 1150 range last I looked. All I have is 1000/1500 with 20% Powertune set in the Catalyst drivers. I am using the first 14.1 betas. With out the Asus OC tool I mine with it at 1000/1500 and average about 878 kh/s.

I'm running it with TC of 32765 and using --xintensity 400 from sgminer 4.1 instead of -I. It runs fine with -I 20 but I get the same hash rate and the desktop is usable if I need it. I"ll post my exact config when I get home.

Dud card. [H]'s review card was also a dud. I've been recommending people away from ASUS and Gigabyte R290/X for mining in several threads already, they have a crap heatpipe 780ti cooler hack-job that's not suited for the smaller Hawaii die so the cooler is running below optimum.

Best mining card atm: Powercolor and Sapphire Tri-X, both are simply way above the competition variants.

I've got the Asus 290 reference and just got the Powercolor 290 , they are doing the same thing , 400 KH/s

We need more hashes @aur.poolminewith.us. With the speeds we have now we will need about 2 months to find a block. The coin may die in that time.

What does everyone think of Keyhotee?

http://invictus.io/keyhotee.php

A video that explains it all:
http://youtu.be/3pZaTdEtK-8

Looks to be a great way to tie together personal secure email and eventually a crypto coin wallet.

I'm onboard with the BitShares stuff, and I think that Invictus is putting together a good product portfolio.... and while Keyhotee does seem to fill a nice niche (providing verified, distributed identity confirmation... kinda like Heatware + crypto) I cannot get over the stupid-ass name. I am sure I will sign up for it once it's possible to do so, but I really hope they re-brand it as BitShares ID or something like that, as Keyhotee is just too much of an inside nerd joke, besides being easy to mispronounce if the person doesn't get the Don Quixote thing.

Anyone willing to take a noob into a pool? I'm on coinotron, but I rather do a pool with someone that isn't a webpage.

That's weird, the voltage is the same in my case. When I go below 1200, system freezes.

Do you have the Asus software installed still? If so remove it, and reboot. I don't have it on my system at all anymore.

Then set clocks via CCC.

Anyone else try wemineltc's new multi pool? I set some of my cards on it this morning.
It will auto convert to BTC, or it can have certain coins held, etc. 0% fees except for the actual transaction fees.

....Not looking good for sure. Probably pull out tonight after work.

Well the good news is that difficulty has come down to more sane levels now that the price has deflated and the network hash rate has gone from 55GH/s to 8GH/s. We're in Litecoin difficulty-land, and it's still more than twice the price of LTC.

If you all get together and point at the pool, I'm fairly certain we might find a block or two... Maybe...

I wouldn't mind actually throwing a couple of MH/s at aur.poolminewith.us I'm interested and excited to see what will happen to it in a month. But I'm not too excited about the pool's current time/round.

Airdrop is at the end of this month.

For all we know, he could dump the 50% at whatever price they're at.

Except if it's anything like Amazon, the seller will be screwed if the buyer changes their mind. I fully tested one of my 280X before selling it on Amazon and it got to the buyer two days ago during the BTC "crash". Guess what? He's claiming defective and wants a refund.

I know I mailed a working card and he doesn't claim any shipping damage, so either HE broke it, or he's lying just to get a full refund knowing Amazon will back the buyer. Either way I'm beyond pissed off and am glad I took the steps of videotaping and photographing the card working, serial numbers, stickers, box, etc. So I'll know immediately if he swapped the card for a broken one or attempted to remove the heatsink.

Best case I get the card back and it's working 100%, then I charge the @$*Her a 10% restocking fee for wasting my time and shipping money.

Got my card back and it has passed Valley loops. Running Arscoin mining now at 720kH/s and it's working fine... gotta love return fraud claiming "defective" meaning "I changed my mind"

Anyone ever have problems staying connected to an MPOS pool website? (what most pools run for their web front-end -- shows "dashboard" with hashrate, etc.) A couple of the ones that I've used recently have been logging me off after extremely short times.... I mean, I'll log in, look at the dashboard for 10 seconds, and then click the Blocks link and I'll have to re-log in..... pretty frustrating. The pools are good otherwise.

MZC is currently the top vote-getter on Cryptsy to be added next.

Also it is interesting to note the possible effect that MZC is having on BTC hashrate.

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Hashrate has gone from ~30PH to ~28PH in the past few days. MZC apparently has about 0.7PH right now (if the statistics at my pool are to be believed). So at the moment, a significant portion (roughly 2%) of the world's Bitcoin ASICs are mining Mazacoin instead of Bitcoin. Mazacoin has yet to be listed on Coinwarz.com or on a "major exchange" (Mintpal has been pretty good/reliable for me). Interesting stuff!

I cashed out part of my MZC again. Sold low, once again. But still got more than 2 days worth of mining BTC with the same ASICs. So, after mining for a little less than 24H, I've gotten over 72H worth of BTC by mining MZC (and doing a poor job of trading it for BTC). I'm continuing to mine, and still have ~2000 MZC in my wallet or owed by the pool.
